Love It!
I absolutely love this knife! It took me going through a few grapefruit halves before I really got the hang of it, but now I'm a pro! This knife does its job perfectly, and exactly as advertised. I did not experience the issue some of the other reviewers have commented on about getting junk stuck between the blades. Yes, some of the meat would get between the blades, but it would just be pushed out when I cut around the next membrane. The only problem I had in using it was when seeds would get between the blades, and on the rare occasion of that happening, they could just be blown out easily. The only gripe I have about this knife is the lack of some kind of case. The blades on it are very sharp! I take this to the office with me every day, and I'm terrified of cutting myself or my car seats with it. I'll probably just end up buying a separate one for the office, but I shouldn't have to do that! Please, send me a case!

eating grapefruit, made easy
I bought this knife for my wife who likes grapefruit. It looked like a good fit, as it was always a chore to get to the good stuff when eating the things. The first cut is made with end that has a straight double-bladed cutter, that straddles the seam running from center to outside edge. Then you use the curved blade to cut along the outside edge of the thick skin following the curved shape of the grapefruit. You end up with nice little wedges of grapefruit, that are intact, with nearly all the juices.A great little tool that sees use every time there is a grapefruit to be eaten. I have even eaten a few, always seemed to make a mess before, but this really works.

Works as intended
This is a nice tool, and likely works at least as well as any grapefruit knife out there. To be honest, though, I probably get more fruit out when I just use a standard sharp knife to cut in-between each segment of grapefruit, then a regular spoon to pull the fruit off of the peel. Yes, there is more squirting when I use this method, but I find it difficult to cut all the way against the peel with a grapefruit knife and not waste any fruit. Overall the knife is quick and easy to use, and does the job well. It's ever so slightly tedious to clean when bits of grapefruit gets stuck in-between the two blades, but prying the blades apart a little bit while running it under hot water has worked for me. I may or may not destroy my knife by doing that, however.

Love grapefruit?
I have had a knife like this for many years and loved how well it worked, so when my daughter in law mentioned how much she loved grapefruit I knew she needed one of these knives. One end of it is slightly curved so it goes between the peel and fruit loosening it and the opposite end cuts the membrane between the sections and very quickly your grapefruit is ready to be eaten. It’s the best grapefruit knife I’ve ever had in my very long life, and I’m sure it will outlast me!

Great for Grapefruit
Whoever said this knife is "too complicated"... that's just sad. If you're having problems with this, I don't think you should really be around knives at all, ya know? This knife is great for cutting grapefruit. Contrary to the other review, you only have to "flip" sides once- I go around and cut with the double-bladed side between each segment, then flip it and cut their edges around the rind. Grab a spoon and each piece comes out incredibly easily, and like the description says, you don't get the nasty squirting like with a regular knife. The serrated blades are sharp and eliminate the squirting and cut very well, you just have to make sure you don't stab yourself, the curved end is pretty sharp, but that's a good thing.

I wish I had known about this earlier!
There are tons of rave reviews about this knife, and that's why I bought mine! And I am not disappointed! This knife makes cutting the wedges of grapefruit from the skin much easier than using a small paring knife - regardless of how sharp that paring knife is! This little knife, at one end which is a double blade, allows clean separation of the thick skin between wedges to slide away, and the curved other end, makes it quick and easy to then separate the grapefruit piece from the skin. This was a great addition to my kitchen and I am delighted I bought it!

Preparing grapefruit is a breeze
This clever little knife has made preparing grapefruit a breeze. The double-bladed straight edge of the knife makes for easy sectioning, while the rounded, serrated blade easily slices the sections from the rind. It took me a few uses to get the hang of using the knife, but once I learned how to use it efficiently I was able to prepare grapefruit faster than with a regular knife. Sometimes little bits of grapefruit get stuck between the double-bladed knife, but it's easy to wiggle the blades open and flush it clean with water. The knife is not super high quality, but for the price is a very good purchase.
