Print Artist Gold 24

I had to buy this Version when I "Upgraded" to Windows 10. I have used this program for more than 20 years it has been very useful and extremely easy to use until now. Below I have posted what I do not like about this new version published when Nova Development took over.---------------- Print Artist Bit***s -----------1. No respect for previous versions - infuriating!2. The Open File window does not open pointing to the last used folder. Default needed here.3. The Open File window always opens in "Tiles" mode rather than the last one selected by the user. Default needed here.4. Ctrl-A does not select all objects unless one or more have already been selected.5. The ruler marks and scale are super tiny on my high res screen - unreadable.6. Drop down menu does not include font selection.7. Font cannot be changed from right-click menu.8. No longer able to load multiple files (as in previous versions)9. Working file name not displayed10. ESC key does not close right-click menu.11. Ctrl-Enter does not complete text edit.12. Ctrl-Z does not always reverse the last edit. It the screen has been zoomed to a field Ctrl-Z jumps to full screen mode. The correct shortcut for that is Ctrl-W. Ctrl-Z should keep its universally recognized function.13. Custom color effects do not work properly. I entered a title text field and somehow got the background to be white which is what I wanted. I copied and pasted that field because I wanted a new field with the same attributes but when I did the paste the background of the new field was transparent. I spent a lot of time trying to change it to white and failed. Absurd!14. Alt-I opens the insert menu but subsequent key presses do not enable selections on that menu. For many years Alt-I+I would open a title text entry field. Super easy to remember and execute. No more. Disgusting. (Yes I could use Ctrl-Shift-T if I wanted to change one of my desktop shortcuts, which I don't - this is an unnecessary conflict) See item 15.15. Many excellent key shortcuts no longer work. Let the mousy users have their goodies but please respect longtime user/customers who are keyboarders.16. Selecting "Color Effects" from the submenu opens the "Color Profiles" selection box (why the name change? - confusing).17. "Color Profiles" selection box pops up right over the field being edited and cannot be moved with the mouse (or otherwise) without causing it to close...?---I have been using this program since it was named Instant Artist. I would happily go back to the original version (or any previous) rather than this abortion if they would work with Window 10/64. Not as all around fabulous as the older version, but still a fast and easy way to put together greeting cards, particularly. It does have some new and useful bells and whistles, and it works with Windows 7, which is the main thing. If it had the ability to import files created in the older version, and the ability to print a font catalog (as did the older version) it would certainly get five stars.

I ordered the gold 24 version but the seller sent the more expensive platinum version. I don't know the differance but this one is fully compatible with windows 7. It works much like all these programs do. The big thing for me is the compatibly. I had purchased Print Shop 23. It was advertised as fully compatible with Win7. Printed on the box, and listed by Microsoft as compatible but it did not work on my new coumputer. Print Artist platinum does. Amazon was great about refunding my money for the print shop.

I had to give up on my old Print Artist 2002 when it wouldn't run on Windows 7. This newer version put out by Nova is a very poor replacement. The graphics aren't nearly as good, and the capability to edit colors in clip art seems to have disappeared. The user manual is poorly written and doesn't seem to relate to the software. The software help capability is no better. It takes a lot of groping around to do anything. Not sure why anybody would even bother with the PhotoPower module, given how cryptic it is to try to use. I'll be looking around for a suitable substitute. This is not a keeper!

Great product but as other reviews stated doesn't work on all computers. My kids computer doesn't have Internet so had to upload to mine, which I didn't know on advance that's why I gave a 3. Slightly more complicated then I expected too for my teenagers to figure out.

When I installed this program I was impressed because was easy to use and had all the features of Print Shop that was installed on my XP computers. I have this program on two computers running Windows 7. When I tried to save or print a project, I get an error message: "Window's has encountered a problem - program is shutting down" I also got a message: "This project can not be save to your hard drive." When I tried to save it to another hard drive, I got the same message. I also got an error message when I sent the project to the printer: "printer not available - please make sure printer cable is connected," my printer is wireless!!! This is the straw that broke the camel's back: I tried to retrieved a saved project. The preview screen shows the saved project with both picture and text. However, when I uploaded the project to the work space, the text was missing. Also printing around an inserted picture in a text box is unmanageable. I never had these problem with Print Shop. I am returning Print Artist to Amazon for a refund. My recommendation: Very cumbersome - save your money!!!

I owned Print Artist many years ago but switched to another brand as it was pretty limited. I am very satisfied with the improvements , ease of use, lots of graphics and ease of setting up the printer with it

I recently purchased a new PC with the Windows 7 Home Edition. My previous print software was not compatible with the Windows 7. Therefore, I searched the Web for current print software. After a lot of research, I decided on Print Artist Gold 24. So far, I am completely pleased with it. There are still a fewfeatures I am slowly learning to use. However, a very useful and informative pocket size novel of instructions comes with the boxed purchase. I refer to it whenever I need help on something. The results from this product have been outstanding, and I have received many compliments from persons who have viewed some of my projects. I would highly recommend this software to anyone looking for a nice, easy to use and reasonably priced addition to their PC.
