Great replacement for Sleep number 5000 compressor.
This replaced a Sleep Number 5000, it was 25 years old and had been dying for some time. The new unit is quieter than the old unit, two controls are far better than the old remote. The new remote has a memory which fantastic. Hook up is easy, anyone can do it, even the people who love to complain can figure this install out. My one complaint is I paid $60 more for the unit than was available by other sellers on Amazon. That is uncalled for Amazon. I almost sent it back to you. You'll love the unit, but try for the $250 I found the next day.

This pump system is a dream come true
I've been fighting with the remote and slow leaking pump (the third pump on this 22 year old sleep number bed.) Every time a new pump needs to be installed the entire bed needs to be taken apart as the behemoth solid wood bed weighs around 300+ pounds and has a side clearance of under 3 inches. I'm not a spring chicken anymore and doing all that lifting, tugging and pulling is hard on me these days. This pump system allowed me to cut the hoses off the old pump while it was still under the bed, then simply install the new pump. Easy easy. The hardest part of the whole thing was cutting through the old tubing in a low clearance space with one hand. Putting the new pump on was a breeze. (In retrospect, seemingly obvious Tip: the black rubber on the tubing connectors on the back of the pump are covers and need to be pulled off before snapping on the quick connectors. Ok, folks not needing a new glasses prescription will see that right away. Duh....) Also, at first I thought the remote was difficult to figure out. Turns out it just takes a very long time for the air chamber pressure to get off of zero. Once the pressure starts to build it's quick--be patient - - cutting off the old pump lets every bit of air out of the chambers. It only took about 15 minutes to get the new pump installed. My air chambers are nice and firm and filled and bonus-they're even with each other. It has been years since my bed has felt this wonderful with both sides matching when filled to the same number. Thank you REM SYSTEMS for designing a replacement pump that is so easy to install when it's not convenient to take apart the bed. And thank you also for making such an effective pump that as a bonus is so quiet. My dog would like to register a complaint though--there is no longer that loud clunking and clicking followed by a compressor running for her to bark at while performing her very important job of defending our home against enemies. I guess we'll just have to settle for a peaceful and blessed night's sleep.

Perfect replacement/upgrade to original equipment
I bought a Select Comfort (that's what they used to be called) bed years ago (hands down best bed I have ever owned btw) and had been 'successfully' utilizing the original bed pump without issue during the entirety of ownership... so technically this is a purchase of Necessity NOT Want. The short version of the story is that I left the original stashed away in one of my nightstands that hasn't made the move yet, and this was cheaper than traveling (by whatever means you can think of) back to my state of origin to dig through my storage and retrieve the original.Now... on with the review...This pump is far superior in every way to the original pump that came with the bed, AND ... FAR less expensive than what Sleep Number (their new name) wants for the "compatible" model they now sell that will 'work with my bed'. Many of you may already know that these beds are in No Way inexpensive, so purchasing a new bed with all the 'fixins' was never even a consideration. I digress... So .... not only does this pump come with 2 wireless remote controls (original was wired) but is also virtually silent in comparison. Yes it is a little bit slower, however the decibel level and wireless control make it more than worth the trade-off.So far there has been NO Leakage and the mattresses stay at the pressure I set them too, BUT, if that were to happen... and I guess it 'could have' given how quiet it as AND the following... it's supposed to have an Auto feature that returns each mattress to the pressure stored in the memory of the controller. You can also control BOTH sides/mattresses with 1(one) wireless controller... this way if something happened to that one, you'd have a spare.SO had I not pulled a bone-head move and 'packed' the original one in a place that I would easily forget about it when I packed up the rest of the bed, I probably would have continued using that one until 'the wheels fell off'.... HOWEVER... I am not going to put the original back on once the rest of my house eventually catches up with me in my new state.... this one is that much better and Totally worth the price of admission (but hopefully I don't ever have to buy one again).Hope this helps someone!

Exceptional product AND customer service!
I have a 15 year old SleepNumber bed which (like many others) had wired remotes that stopped displaying numbers years ago. However, with air leaking, it was time to get a replacement pump. This was much cheaper that the SleepNumber brand so thought I would give it a try - a great decision! When I received the pump and (very easily) hooked it up, I was having an issue with the remotes retaining connection. With it being 7PM at night, I sent the customer service a quick email to ask about re-pairing, assuming I'd get a response in a day or so. Well, a response came within 15 minutes, along with a request if they could call me that night to walk me through it!We soon connected and he asked if he could walk me through it. We tried together on the phone and the unit (while the bed was full) just seemed to be a little finicky, while mostly working. Without hesitation, he offered to send me a replacement product because there should be NO issues like I was experiencing and there must have been some unfortunate defect.I received the new unit in just a few days and WOW - the unit works wonderfully and the bed is more comfortable than it has been in YEARS! Sometimes things happen and it's the level of customer service that makes all the difference. I could not be happier with the great product and this company!
