Get Outta My Face!: How to Reach Angry, Unmotivated Teens with Biblical Counsel

This book has a lot of practical tools to help communicate with people that can be hard to talk to.
Someone else borrowed this book from a library, but I read it. I am trying to implement the elements of communication demonstrated in this book in my everyday interactions. I purchased this book to give to a friend that was having trouble talking to his brother about his self-created life disasters. The Bible is the best book about dealing with people in truth and love. This book pulls all that helpful information together in one place. I'm glad I found it and read it, and I hope it helps other folks deal with people that make their lives more difficult than they have to be.

What Many Struggling Parents Have Been Waiting For
The book was filled with wisdom and practical techniques (and the biblical thinking behind those techniques) for parents, pastors and youth workers. Horne gives very clear steps on how to build a bridge of communication to angry or unmotivated teens, with the ultimate goal being to share the gospel with them. I have read dozens of parenting books over the years, and while they were generally good and helpful, this is the best one I have ever read. It was extremely specific in how to speak, listen, and encourage teens. It was simple to read and understand. And, it was very relevant and honest. This is definitely a book everyone should read!

Practical Help to build a bridge to a teen and the gospel
This book provides a good structure for helping to bridge communication that has broken down and would be helpful for almost any parent with preteen/teens. But don't stop with the method - use it to engage your child's heart desires and bring them to the gospel.

Who's in charge at your house?!
A friend from Moms in Prayer recommended this book to me to bring Gods wisdom and discernment into my dealings with willfulness in my children. However, the same can be applied to every relationship. It is well written and gently spoken truth to be applied. It truly is more about how one responds rather than the willful child. Do I react in kind or respond like Christ?

Highly recommended for Biblical Counselors
I will refer to this book often. I have purchased this for gifts. One is going to someone in Texas who works with Teens in a homeless situatoin. God bless the people who minister to teens in this upside down world.
