Quick and easy peace of mind
My wife and I purchased this camera system as there had been several break ins in our neighborhood. After some time and some research, we settled with a Zosi system, mostly because the cameras are powered through the same set of cable the video is run through. We don’t have outside outlets readily available, so this was important. The camera system itself was pretty easy to install, and set up was fairly painless. The hardest part was setting up email alerts and even then, a quick tutorial on the zosi website walked me though it.I had a faulty camera but support was quick in showing how to get it fixed.Overall, we are happy with our purchase.

System Software
For the money this is a pretty good system. I had an old Shield camera system that I brought back in 2014, I think. I am using two of those camera's on this Zosi's system. They work but they are defiantly not as clear as the Zosi's cameras. I have not hooked this up to the internet therefore I am not using the Zosi app. I am just using the system software and the one thing I do not like is the software will log an event like a vehicle detected and when you go to this event, there is nothing there. However, if you go to time search an play it back 5 second before the event was logged, you will see that a vehicle pasted. So their software is about 3 to 5 seconds to slow on it's logging time for events. If they could fix that, it would make this system perfect. I haven't used the app so I don't know if it's the same, but I suspect it is.

A great system with an affordable price
My husband hooked up the system and we were able to use our cameras and DVR (with separately purchased harddrive) on our laptop and iphones. We were having trouble accessing the DVR, so we reached out to the customer service and after a few emails with a representative named Coco, our system was fully up and running. Sadly, we have already caught someone messing around in one of our vehicles, but thankfully we were alerted by the motion sensor alarms and have video proof of the incident

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
This was a good product until 2025 hit, now the system date is stuck at 2099 and you can't fix it. Because of this you can't backup any video, turning this into just a multi-cam monitor. Still waiting on the fix Zosi!

The DVR software is TERRIBLE
This is the model number ZR08FN for the DVR, which is mentioned exactly nowhere. I think it would be helpful to know what the model number is so buyers can figure out exactly what they are buying and how it is supported. With that said, this is a pretty OK DVR system. I bought it to replace an old SD generic DVR and cameras which have been pretty worn out from being outside in the sun. Every DVR is pretty much the same thing, a tiny Linux PC that records video. The software varies from box to box, some are better, some are worse; like this one.If you want a basic DVR that works flawlessly out of the box, this is it. It is very easy to set up, all you need to do is run the wires to the cameras and screw them on to whatever surface you need to.The software on the DVR is alright, nothing special. All you really need is for it to record and mark motion events. Playback is fairly straightforwardHere is what is terrible: The PC and phone software is awful. It is less than functional and extremely clunky. This DVR requires oddball software and ONLY works with this weird software. My old DVR had a web client (Internet Explorer ActiveX only, but it was there...) and I could use a different app to view the cameras. There seems to be two forks of Zosi equipment, this is the "other" DVR family which has pretty terrible client software.Playing back motion events is frustrating because instead of showing motion events in a timeline, you get a list view that you pick from. My other DVR showed the entire timeline with events in a different color. This one pulls up a grid and you go to the timeline of that one camera. You don't have the ability to view multiple cameras at the same time just in case your subject goes to a different camera. I'm still working on getting the playback mode to make sense. So if you are looking for a system for cheap, this is it. As to whether or not this is a GOOD system for cheap, you may want to look elsewhere. My cheap no-name DVR was far superior in software but this one has much better hardware.

Fantastic video
I replaced a cheaper system with this one... ended up buying another one to supplement that one. The video on these cameras are fantastic. Much better than the cheaper models. Easy to set up and easy to configure.
