Impressive and great value
Absolutely amazed at the performance of my ADS-B flightaware stick with this antenna. Only tested inside a 2 story house, temporarily mounted on a stereo unit (metal surface). Place is full of electronics and potential interference. Receiving planes up to 100 miles away, local planes down to 600 ft. Can't wait to get it in my vehicle 9 ft up on the roof. If you live in a condo, skyscraper, or apartment building, this antenna should still work well for you!

Perfect ADS-B Antenna
I'm using this on my FlightAware ADS-B receiver and it's working great. I chose this one because of the longer cable. I have it mounted in a window and I'm picking up over 1000 planes a day and even getting some over 250 miles away. Pretty good value for a cheap antenna.

More than doubled my range and aircraft received
I am using this antenna in my attic with a 16"x12" metal sheet as a ground plane. I am now able to get ADS-B data from planes within 100 miles of my location. With the antenna on the ADS-B receiver I was limited to less than 50 miles. If conditions are right I get planes at 150 miles or more.Keep in mind the height of planes and hills / mountains will impact your range, but over all it is a MUST if you are serious about ADS-B. a good cheap way to quickly improve your station!

I can see more airplanes with my RTL-SDR
I use this with an HDTV adapter to capture airplane transponders for fun. This antenna captures more airplanes than the HDTV antenna so I rate it good.It has a long cord and a magnetic base which is great because I can stick it on a light on my ceiling and get it off the floor or table.

Using for FlightAware ADSB SDR
I bought this antenna to use with the FlightAware ADS-B SDR, and it works great. I am using it indoors, near a window, and getting reception out to about 60 miles. I am not sure what the issues others are having. I literally configured PiAware on my Pi, took the antenna out of the bag, connected to the USB ADS-B receiver and in about 5 minutes it was already pulling in data.

Quality control issue
I received my antenna right before leaving on a trip. Very disappointed to find the connector fell off the wire as soon as I started to connect it. The heat shrink wasn't shrunk and nothing was crimped. Didn't have anything with me to fix the issue so this antenna's build failure caused the whole $300 project to fail.

Basic non-mobile
This works. It is “tuned” to the 1090mhz band by virtue of it’s length. The coils in the mast are, for the most part, decoration. It’s a “piece of metal in the air” so it is a “scanner antenna” and will pick up most anything. This is NOT for transmitting on any band unless you are doing less than 1 watt. And then “length matters” so just don’t do it.The low rating is for the following-1- the magnet inside the base is small in size, and doesn’t even seem to be a true “rare earth” which are super strong.2-The magnet is attached only to the plastic “base” with a membrane which is only affixed with double-stick material around the perimeter of itThink of it as a magnet-double stick tapped to a piece of thin plastic-double stick taped to the base.IT WILL BLOW OFF ANOVE 45MPH or so.3- When the base on mine fell apart, I could see the terrible quality of the connection between the antenna wire and the base. Just barely a few copper strands soldered on. And no isolation/insulation.Here’s my gift-5-Star Review:I am a power-user with a very specific project. This little guy (in a 2 pack, bonus) would be great for a hobbyist in ADS-B.Magnet it to the top of a File Cabinet, or other steel surfaceThat faces a window and it will receive quite well.(Nit your oven/stove if the microwave is right above it.There is a disc of heavy double-stick includes, and the bonus of the extra adapter included is a big plus. So, but this item for its parts and simple hobby or backup use. Or when traveling if you’re a nerd like me and have a portable setup ;)

very easy to use, boosting signals
Got an SDR and saved on the antenna. However, the general-purpose wifi antenna doesn't work well.Ended up purchasing this model. It boosts reception quality dramatically.
