The bags are 27cms square. The closure is 3cms from the top making the bag 27cms x 24cms

Yes, I have just checked and in the back of the packaging it says: Waterbath info, heat resistant up to +90C.

The bags are 27cmx27cm. That does not include the locking strip. There is also a gusset at the base which makes filling easier.

Could i use these to freeze a 1.5kg chicken or a beef roasting joint?

I don't think they're big enough. You could freeze chicken breasts or thighs of that quantity in them.
