Great for home brewing; 2nd one I have ordered, 1st carboy still in use.
Great for fermenting wine or beer - I run continual batches of mead through it. This is my second purchase of the same size; the first is still in use, I just brew continually. I use 2-4 pounds of honey per gallon, and typically fill to 4.5 gallons at a time, leaving plenty of room for fruits (pomegranite, dragon fruit, passion fruit, etc., berries...and ginger, sometimes habenero chiles) and the honey. I'll use 12 gallons of honey - roughly 1 gallon in size - and about 3-to-3.5 gallons of distilled or RO water, and add the fruit, distillers yeast, and yeast nutrient. Put an airlock on top, wait a month, and...you've got some delicious (and I mean delicious!) wine!Carboy is thick glass, which is great, because I have granite countertops and porcelain tile...ha ha. No cracks, no problems...nice and sturdy!

The company stands behind their product
I am very pleased with the product. It's what I was hoping for.My first glass bottle arrived shattered, which most likely occurred during transport. The company rectified the issue and expedited a new glass bottle.

Great replacement for my plastic bottle.
I wanted a glass bottle to replace the 5 gallon plastic water bottle in my bottom load water cooler dispenser. This worked great!

Nice Jug
I received a nice glass jug, but no bubbler or anything else. This is not a "kit" at all; it's a glass jug. Buyer beware.

Great value for the utility and aesthetics
I now own two of these. The product is fantastic. In my quest to reduce my exposure to plastic and improve my health I started getting my water from a local purifier store. I've got a crock-style ceramic water dispenser and I put one of these on top. Works like a charm. Looks beautiful. Is very satisfying to use. Made in Italy, per the packaging. To properly cap it I bought plastic "milk jug" style caps from my water store, which fit the plastic 5 gallon jugs but also work well for this. Not quite plastic-free but darn close. The company does a good job of packaging the product. Lots of bubble wrap and a double layer of cardboard. I suspect these do break sometimes in shipping but I'm sure the seller would handle that situation. I'm successful 2 for 2 and planning to buy one more soon. When filled with water these are certainly heavier than their plastic brethren. But, doing the math, it only adds about ten pounds. Five gallons of water weighs roughly 45. The jug weighs 11 pounds. And considering these only cost 10 or 15 dollars more than a plastic jug as of this writing I think it's a fantastic value. Absolutely worth it.

Great for homebrewing!
Hard not to be a little nervous when you're ordering a glass product on-line. Once it arrived though it was pretty clear that my worry wasn't warranted. Well packaged and a thick solid item. No chips, cracks, etc. Stopper size listed is accurate. Recommend a good long carboy or decanter brush for cleaning if you will be using it for home brewing. Carboy carrier has been helpful too when it's full. It has taken the daily knocks associated with home brewing just fine. Have no doubt I'll get plenty of years out of it so long as I don't manage to drop it outright on the cement floor of our basement! The price coupled with free shipping sealed the deal for me at the time. Definitely recommend.
