The leather is nice and sturdy/thick while still being reasonably pliable. The holder is a bit short and tight, though. I got mine to store a Whartenburg wheel for medical play. The leather is plenty thick enough to insure I won’t accidentally poke myself with the sharp end of the tool but it’s not quite long enough to accommodate the whole thing without some of the handle poking out at the top.If you’re just using it for a pen, maybe make sure your pen isn’t particularly thick, like a Mont Blanc or something. It might be a tight fit.
