No, you do not need to oil this filter. This is a direct replacement for the oem filter. I put a filter sock over mine as well and I would also recommend putting a little grease on the inside edge where it sits on the intake, helps ensure dirt stays out.

does this fit a RZR 1000?

Not sure about the RZR. This fits my Can Am 2018 X3

Will this fit on 22 canam X3 dsx rr?

Yes it will, and these are great filters. We use Donaldson filters in Caterpillar equipment that are in very heavy dust all day everyday.

Best Protection

For a few dollars more, I opted to buy the best filter possible from the manufacturer of my air intake. The filter, has 99.9% filtration, works in high temperatures, high humidity and last longer than standard paper filters and it’s less money than any aftermarket filter. It is a dry filter style so no oiling requireI. The filter also allows your motor to breath easier.

The Housing for this filter cartridge is also made by DONALDSON.....

I was unsure whether this would fit my Can-am Maverick Sport XRC, as I could not find a review or Donaldson's website that would confirm, but with Amazon's excellent return policy, I thought I would try.I received the filter, and install it, IT FIT PERFECT !.... , then while re-attaching the front cover (the one with 3-latches) I saw in very small raised letter print the word "DONALDSON"on the front . Donaldson makes the air filter housings for certain Can-Am models....This was a perfect buy for me.
