Remington 80,000 BTU LP Propane Radiant Heater | For Construction Sites and Garages up to 2,000 square feet (REM-80-OFR-O)

The first heater we received had a hole in the fuel line, so it didn't operate correctly. I am very pleased to say that Amazon was amazing with the return policy. UPS arrived the following morning after I contacted Amazon and picked up the heater. Three days later we received a new one. The new one works well and I am very pleased with the purchase.

At first I believed that I had finally found the perfect heater for my large 3 season room. I got it put together and started with no problems and putting out great heat...for about about 10 mins, then it just cut off. Now, I had read the reviews so I knew to check the pressure to see if it was too low, and it was set according to what the manufacturer suggested so I didnt bother it that time. The red power light was blinking, so I turned it off and back on numerous times until I gave up and just turned it off and waited about 30 mins. I turned it back on, and the red light wasn't blinking and the heater fired back up and we were good to go, or so I thought. Same thing happened again, and this time I turned the pressure screw slightly but it was so tight that it really didnt turn much at all, not even an 1/8. Repeated the steps again at least 5 more times until I just gave up for the night. The second day I tried it, it fired right up and once again it would not stay on more than 10-12 mins. But this time the switch wouldn't work at all and wouldn't turn back on! This heater didnt put out anything but fumes and I wasted time and money with this heater. I should not have to be a mechanic and do repairs and reset gauges on a brand new purchase! Very disappointed and I'm returning it. Well, I'll just keep looking for what I need, even if I have to pay more to get it.

I use this heater in my 30 by 40 foot uninsulated shop to help the wood burning stove keep up. I have been burning red diesel in it and it seems to work really well. I have run it about 100 hours and it has fired up every time and only has noticable smoke on start up.

HAD TROUBLE WITH THE EYE BUT GOT IT FIXED

Update!12/26-Decided to pour remaining diesel out and try kerosene. It’s lit! Hopefully this will be the permanent fix.12/24-Been using the heater for a couple of weeks without issue. Only complaint was smelling like diesel when coming inside from garage. Then today- it doesn’t start. Zip, zero nada. Now the driveway has a puddle of diesel and there’s no heat.

I purchased this product based on reviews (at the time 4 star rating), dual fuel and 9 hour operation time. The first one I ordered was lost in delivery by UPS. Amazon customer service responded quickly and a second was sent. This one was damaged. It looked like something fell on the top because the unit was compressed into the fuel tank and the tank was caved in. Amazon sent a third and this one was looked brand new.This one heats up well but shuts off after about 2 hours of operation and half a tank of fuel remaining. Fill it up and it runs again for 2 hours. It also is very difficult to start (even with the pressure increased) as it will smoke a lot, light and then shut off after a few seconds. Some combination of shutting off, unplugging and shaking the fuel around will sometimes get it started. Honestly though - it is a huge disappointment. Not a good experience in any way. Do not purchase this item!

This is a very good unit. Although the instructions says not for farm diesel, which is the red diesel, of course it burns that fuel just fine. We did have to make a slight adjustment, and increase to the fuel pressure which is clearly explained in the instructions. It wouldn’t stay lit at first. But the instructions clearly cover that. Different altitudes require a slight adjustment. Anyway we really love this heater and it’ll burn about six hours on one tank of fuel. After we purchased it we noticed the Price had jumped dramatically. We paid I believe right at $300 for it and now I see it listed for much more than that. It does not have a thermostat, it is either on or off. Highly recommended for your shop. Even though it’s burning diesel, we do not notice any fumes inside the shop. It burns very clean. Of course we always leave the door cracked a little bit so we always have fresh air available.

When using K-1 Kerosene there is no smoke and very little smell on start up once hot and running there is no smell at all. I am very happy and warm.
