One of the few OUTDOOR electric traps
So far this traps seems to handle most outdoor weather fine. The design raises the electrical zap plates approx. 1 full centimeter off the ground, which is MORE than most electric traps! This feature, along with small bottom slits helps keep most water and dirt from shorting out the trap. Bait tray is easily removed by human hands, even when wearing gloves and has not been removed by rodents. Battery tray separates from the zap tray with ease. Batteries are easily installed while remaining snug when trap is jostled. This trap could easily be modified to handle the occasional accidental sprinkler system watering if only a simple rubber gasket were placed between the top (battery tray) and bottom (zap plate tray) to keep water from slowly leaking into the side, and some silicone putty place around the electronic on off switch? On future models It might be helpful to angle the joint between the top tray and bottom tray at 45 degree angles so any water would simply run straight down the side reducing water droplets reaching the zap plates?Overall better design than competitors.

The best trap you'll ever use!!!!
I love this product! The peanut butter has a nice little tray that pulls out easily from the back. Then it's best to put that end up against a wall or something else in the area so the lil crumb snatchers don't try to out smart you and eat it from the outside of the unit. Next, I never did read the instructions so I have no idea what the little light on the long cord is really used for but I plugged it in and set it next to the unit. I noticed with the last little mouse he must not have made it in too far, before he got his deadly shock because he was laying right in front of the entrance dead. Make sure all cords are hidden because the lil crumb snatchers will try to chew them apart. If they do, you can easily splice hem back together for another go at it. When a mouse has been shocked the green light on top turns red and you'll hear a beep noise about every 30 seconds or so to alert you. This is the best trap I've came across yet.

not to practical except for inside by an outlet
Haven't caught anything , pretty sur rodents don't like going into a small space with no way out but backwards. My other traps that work you can see through both ends. would not recommend any such devices as this.Buy the time you know it doesn't work you can no longer do a return as you have missed the window of return.

easy setup
arrived in time and set up was easy as can be. simply plug in the electricity and open up the bait drawer put the bait in and now just waiting until the mouse/rat takes the bait. may have to be patient because have not heard the mouse making sounds in the ceiling since we plugged up the hole in the wall that he/she probably came through. hopefully the trap will catch it if the little rascal comes back.

Didn’t kill one rat
Found one stunned rat outside the trap. Wasn’t dead. Since then, although I baited it with hamburger, chicken wings, etc. no rat has been caught.

Kills right away
I'm always hesitant about these traps as I don't condone the use of chemicals, but this one just lures them in with the bait and then kills them right away without putting them through misery or harming anyone around the trap.

Defective
Had to return because flashing red light came on as soon as unit was turned on. Numerous attempts to reset, no result. Flashing light was supposed to indicate a successful catch.

Operates in two different ways
It's very convenient as it is able to operate in two different ways; you can either plug it into the wall or just put in batteries, depending on what works best based on the location that you're in.
