Nifty little chainsaw, especially if doing a GoW style nerf gun
This is a pretty neat little chainsaw melee weapon. It would probably be a good fit for a little kid who wants something to swing around at a nerf fight, but that's not why I got it. The reason why I got it is to use it with my new Modulus gun as a Gears of War style bayonet, which it works pretty well as, since even with the dual-rail barrel AND the long range barrel the chainsaw is still about two inches longer. This means I'm not likely to hit anyone with hard parts of the gun so long as I don't swing it upwards at them. I do however wish to caution any who want to use this with a Modulus or Rebelle or possibly newer nerf guns, as the newer rail locks (which look much more streamlined than the older two-prong style locks) are much stiffer than those of the N-Strike/Elite lines and this will go on fairly easily but will be almost impossible to get back off (I had to use a flat-head screwdriver to ease the tab over the rail lock to get it back off). This led to a rather simple mod of clipping back the lock tab on the chainsaw and putting a piece of duck tape in between the rail mounts. While this is a pretty well detailed little saw, it does have some gimmick issues. One is that it has a sound chip inside that's run by doesn't seem to have an easy way to replace the batteries, even though it lists replacement batteries on the package. The button to make it make sound is in the middle of the saw (it's the green dot on the side) and you have to hold it down to keep the sound playing, even though the chainsaw sound isn't that great. It also has a slight bend in it and the foam around the sound bits seems to be dented it, though it could just be the one I got.So, overall pretty good. someone with small hands could wave it around easily or it can make a decent bayonet if you're into that look. And as a bayonet, the chainsaw handle can double as a forward grip.

What's cooler than a foam bayonet? A foam bayonet-style chainsaw!
As a fun accessory, the Zombie Strike Chainsaw is probably the best in its product line. While the electronic chainsaw noise is rather quiet and actually difficult to get working (you have to push on the side of the toy, what a bad placement!), this is the only foam "melee" weapon in this line with a N-Strike rail attachment. This means you can mount this chainsaw to your blaster, Gears of War style, and run around "chainsawing" stuff. Needless to say, this makes your blaster not only cooler but 10x more fun to wave around, though very few Nerf blasters actually have reasonably placed N-Strike rails for this purpose. Still, the Nerf Zombie Strike Chainsaw is a uniquely fun blaster attachment especially at the great Amazon price tag!

The most useful of Nerf attachments.
Amusing Nerf "melee weapon". Doesn't sound like a chainsaw, but certainly evokes that sort of sound. It looks silly on most blasters and the rail attachment is a solid piece rather than a typical spring-loaded one, but both the chainsaw itself and the attachment point have proven durable over time. The foam will bend readily and does not seem to have a 'core' like most foam weapons do, but this is meant for fun, not serious combat. You can tell it's a real Zombie Strike product because it has a fake cloth wrapping on it. The factory-distressed look makes it easy to cast my mind elsewhere and pretend I am a real post-apocalyptic survivor, fighting real zombies on Real Street.I recommend this chainsaw!

The chainsaw sound I think is a cool feature but just too gimmicky
Neat little add-on to your NERF arsenal. It attaches well to your blaster's tactical rails, and it's a little hard even to take off .The chainsaw sound I think is a cool feature but just too gimmicky, something that I would rather not have, and i'm a person that loves gimmicks. This feels good and mostly sturdy in your hands although the grip might be a little too small for some people. But also because of the fact that it's a little hard too take of a blaster, when you taking it off, find the sturdiest spot to pull, otherwise it feels like it's gonna break.

Ok but not great
They are cool but not as cool as expected from discription. Can mount to guns but looks sort of weird on most of the guns even in the zombie strike series. Makes a chainsaw sound but only one of the two we have sounds like a chainsaw the others sounds strange. Also you need to hold the button down to make the sound, once you let go it stops. The button is on the side instead of the handle so it looks awkward if you try to pretend to saw with it while pushing the button. Plus it is hard for kids to push the button. My 10 year old has to push down hard so he doesn't even try. Still good for meele fighting zombies and looks cool but I recommend the machete from the zombie strike series and the n-force klaw hatchet, over these.

My 8 year old is happy with this purchase!
My 8 year old son really loves having this to add to his zombie nerf arsenal. It's really just for looks, but it does have a hard-to-see button on the bottom middle that makes chainsaw sounds when pushed. It's a great add on for their zombie gameplay. It has held up well, but the hard foam keeps it from being too dangerous around the house.

Underwhelming
There's not much to this toy. Just a foam chainsaw that has a little button that makes noise. The noise isn't very loud at all. I was kind of disappointed, but my grandson had asked for it for his 8th birthday. He liked it when he opened it, and it was rather inexpensive. If I had known exactly what it was, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Fun add-on for nerf guns
Fun add-on for nerf guns, but you have to hold down the button for the sound, and it's not in the easiest spot to hit. Would probably be harder for kids, but maybe they wouldn't care.
