Overall I am very happy with this purchase. However, the design of this disconnect makes your terminal connectors way too close to the mounting surface (sheet metal for me). You almost have to put an extra nut on the stud BEFORE sliding your terminal connector on so that you don't inadvertently make contact with the sheet metal. If the base of the stud protruded a 1/4" beyond the mounting surface, the problem would be solved.I also am not crazy about the fact that you can easily turn the disconnect beyond the off position. You can basically hyper-extend it. It is still off, but the "off" label is no longer clearly visible.This is still a good value and a decent disconnect.

I love the look of the bright red color. The switch is built well and fit perfectly in my boat to provide a battery kill switch for storage. Very easy to install with the hardware provided.

When traveling, during winter time or anytime the battery needs disconnection in an easy and swift manner like when leaving a car parked (as a anti theft device) this product proves excellent ! No need for pliers, wrenches and no more "could not disconnect the battery because I did not have the tools" 👍

I found a video on line and the guy did a great job on stepping through the install. I wanted to put it on the side of my battery box like he did but the box was too tight for the battery and the bolt lengths. I ended up putting it on top. It worked great; my only issue was that one of the bolts either had bad threads or the locking nut was damaged or something. After trying to tighten it for like 25 minutes I gave up and found a bolt/nut out of my cache. So one of them is now not an Allen wrench type. Oh well. I also only got an 18” negative cable and should have gotten a bit longer. It works but it made install very tight and that was if my own doing.

We bought this to replace a key-style battery switch on our travel trailer. We wish we had put this style on the first time, because it is so much easier to use! The switch attaches to the hitch, and it is operated just by turning the knob. We love it, and it really saves the battery by making it possible to turn it off rather than having it run some of the DC items like the clock on the radio/CD player all of the time. We would recommend this switch.
