After trying several brands, these were the ones I kept
To begin with, I’m not an audiophile. If you consider yourself an audiophile, this review will likely be of little help to you. I’m a casual listener of pop, rock, jazz, dance, hip hop with a little classical thrown in.Earbuds are a tough item to review. There are so many variables to them. For instance, sound quality. You read a review that says the sound quality is great. Great for what? Great for phone calls? Great for music? And what kind of music? Hip hop? Classical? Then there’s the fit. The further you can insert the earbud into your eardrum, the more full the bass sounds. So I may try on a pair of earbuds and think the sound quality is good, and you may try them on and think they sound terrible…all because of the difference in size and shape of our eardrums. The different sizes of eartips that come with each pair of earbuds can only do so much when it comes to the proper fit. The upshot is, reviews can only go so far in helping you decide what works best for you. The only way to truly figure out what works is to try one brand and if they don’t work, try a different brand. My search began with the pair of wired earbuds I have from RaveTone. I used them as the benchmark because they have just the right balance of bass and treble for my taste. I bought them on Amazon for $10. It took me five pairs before I landed on a brand of Bluetooth earbuds that had the same bass quality as the wired RaveTones.Keeping in mind that I do have a preference for a full sounding bass, the five pairs I tried are rated from worst to best (for my ears that is):5th place: RaveTones: Right around $25. I thought these would be a good choice since I have the wired RaveTones and really like them. But they turned out to have the worst sound to my ears. No bass at all and with the volume turned up even a little on the high side, the treble was almost ear piercing.4th place: Phaiser 790: Right around $50. These sound ok to me, but honestly not much different than the Chinese brand reviewed below that I put in 2nd place. When you consider the price difference, I just don’t see the advantage to these. In addition, they’re bulky. I assumed the extra bulk would be due to them having extra components that would enhance the sound quality but I couldn’t detect that. A person who considers themselves an audiophile may be able to discern the difference but I couldn’t.3rd place: Phaiser 730: Right around $30. I honestly can’t tell the difference between these and the Phaiser 790. I put these ahead of the 790 because they’re less expensive and less bulky. Again, a more discerning ear may be able to tell the difference, but I couldn’t. Like the 790, they sound ok to me, but nothing to get excited about. Neither of the Phaisers have the fullness in bass that I was looking for.2nd place: Chinese earbuds. The heading reads Bluetooth Headphones Sweatproof: Right around $10. These are really not bad, especially considering the price. They fit well, sound decent and have a pretty straightforward design. I refer to these as the Chinese earbuds because of an amusing aspect they have: Like other reviewers have noted, the voice commands are in Chinese. I actually kind of like this. I push the power on button and the voice says ‘power on’ in Chinese. Even though I don't speak Chinese, I know what the voice is saying because thankfully the written instructions that came with the earbuds are in English. So it's really not an issue, especially since there are only a handful of voice commands anyway. This little quirk makes me smile every time I use them. But like both pair of Phaisers, the bass quality is just ok on these earbuds.1st place: The earbuds you're reading about now. Mindbeast: Both the Phaisers and the Chinese earbuds are all quite similar to each other. The Mindbeasts, however, are very different. The bass is noticeably fuller than the others. They sound great to my ears. In fairness, the highs suffer a bit and are somewhat muddled compared to the others but the superior bass makes up for it in my opinion. Also, I like the fact that just by pulling the two magnetic earbuds apart, they automatically turn on. Placing the magnets back together turns them off automatically as well. It’s a nice feature. What I don’t like is the neckband. It forces the wires into an odd position at the sides of my face. You can bend them out of the way but sometimes they brush against your face. It’s just a little strange. If these came with a regular connecting wire instead of the neckband they’d be perfect. In fact, I looked to see if they make an alternative model without the neckband but they don’t. But then, someone else may like the neckband. It’s purely subjective. The bass quality is just so much better than the others that these are the ones I kept and use daily. I also kept the Chinese pair as a backup and for travel since they sound decent and were only $10. The two Phaisers and the Ravetones were sent back.Hope this long-winded review helps someone.

Updated: DOPE Headphones for the price
2.12.2020 - The headphones broke a month ago and I have tried to contact the company to no avail. The headphones were awesome when they worked but getting a replacement or refund has proven futile. Will not be dealing with this company again.Well, Well, Well....I was not expecting such an awesome product. Firstly, they are super lightweight and easy to use. Secondly, the sound quality was a big concern (as I'm a 90's baby) because I like my music loud and bassy. These headphones have deliverd and i couldn't be happier. The sound even fades back in when you reopen your music or video you were as not to blow out your drums. Thirdly, the price was perfect for my needs. I will be purchasing another pair becasue they even provide a 10% off coupon with purchase and if you're a small business supporter than you'll be even happier with this product. Thank you Mindbeast...you guys are awesome and I can now "Get lost in 'my' world" =)

Efficient, Awesome battery, great sound
These are some of the best wireless headphones I’ve used. Not once, in a LOT of days being used, have I had the battery die on me. The battery is not super special or anything but their methodology, super fast connection and reconnection rate enables these to turn on and off almost as seamlessly as my AirPods. I mean that wholeheartedly and cannot underscore enough, how impressive their algorithm (or whatever it is) works. When these arrived, I thought nothing too special about them, other than they supposedly have great drivers (they seem very good but I am not going to pretend to be an expert). When I broke the magnetic bond, they turned on and were ready to pair. (These pair like “normal” Bluetooth headphones). Then I proceeded to listen to audiobooks when working; taking them out of my ears frequently, letting them drop and magnetically attach. Each time I did this, they turned off and saved battery. It did such a good job of this, I actually did not even notice it was happening until I very quickly put them in my ears again and heard “pairing”.I think there are a lot of headphones (wireless) that do this but I’ve never had any, other than AirPods, that do not require me to go into settings and manually connect once in a while (even Beats with w1 chip). These have not required it and I love them! The sound quality is indeed good. The fit is pretty good and they seem to be water resistant (I accidentally dipped them in water when washing my face and no ill impacts; I don’t recommend doing that, however). The only con that I know is that the buttons feel a little plastic-y but I could care less, given the functionality. I love these

Chip set died less than a year later but was handled quickly by MindBeast
Bought this product due to positive reviews with negative reviews centering around abuse and harsh treatment. Product pairs easily, sounds great as advertised, and no issues with hands free calls. Took fantastic care of product treating it with baby gloves and storing it in original box when not in use. It's small and fragile, so damage during abuse is expected right? After immaculate care and protection the chip set died after 10months.... not a failure of speakers, cords, or charging port that could be associated with abuse. Instead, it drops paring frequently and pair again performing a vicious cycle while playing music... while using handsfree and talking, other party cannot hear a thing and yet you can hear them perfectly. Boils down to cheap and poor quality electronics. Is a unit at this price point failing after less than a year of use light use normal and to be expected???I'm not impressed, you be the judge...Update: contacted seller about the issue, they were fantastic! Responded immediately to my concerns and sent me a replacement(no questions asked) within 48hrs of learning of the issue. I can only imagine this rarely happens with the customer service I received. Looking forward to enjoying these in the future.
