Updated Review 9/28/16:Changing my rating to 4-STARS.I had this water bottle for 1 week now and so far I like it. Keeps my water cold. I think the trick is to pour cold water and I don't even bother adding ice anymore. Pour cold water from the refrigerator and go to work for 8 hours. Hours of cold water. The plastic and rubber smell finally disappeared. No issues so far. The caps are holding and the rubber pieces are still in perfect condition. The trick is to not to expose the water bottle in extreme temperatures. I work indoor so that is not a concern.I don't see any difference from our existing (my sibling's) Hydro Flask water bottles with this brand. Great bargain.Original Review:I have been looking for a vacuum insulated stainless beverage bottle for a long time. We usually buy 5 gallon water bottles (refill) and those bottled water from Walmart, but it was getting expensive. We wanted to use our refrigerator that has a water dispenser and water filter.After searching Amazon for a few days, I founds MAPS's vacuum insulated stainless beverage bottle. The price was on point. I paid $16.99 (I know I should have waited for 3 more days. I could have gotten it for the current price of $13.99). I ignored the reviews since a lot of them are kind of shady. I just looked at the specs and stainless steel material which is on par with the more popular vacuum insulated stainless beverage bottle brand Hydro Flask. I didn't want to pay the Hydro Flask price so I clicked Add to Cart and paid for the order.Overall, I am happy with this purchase. It is what I expected and as described. I wish I could have gotten the straw cap. Bummer. And speaking of the caps, they work really well for me, for now. I read some reviews that they spill, but I haven't experienced it yet.If you are going to hand wash this vacuum insulated stainless beverage bottle, make sure to not pour dishwashing liquid in the bottle. It will be hard to remove the soapy taste. Just dilute the dishwashing liquid in cup or glass and then pour.That's about it. Good value. As described. And most importantly, I did not receive this item for free.

This is an excellent water bottle! A major improvement on the last one I bought (brand name withheld out of consideration). This bottle is double lined so liquids don't heat up or cool off. It also doesn't "sweat" and the outside has a pleasant matte feel. I know some have complained about leaking, but I'm using the screw-on cap, not the flip cap, and the seal is absolutely perfect. No leaking whatsoever. It's also dishwasher safe, which rival brands don't necessarily offer. Lastly it's steel, which should be the material of choice for health conscious consumers. If you aren't familiar with the benefits of steel containers over aluminum ones, research it and you'll surely opt for steel.The footprint of the 32 ounce bottle is too big for traditional car cupholders, but I had already gotten a cupholder expander for my Toyota, and this bottle fits easily into that expander.Very pleased with this product!

I purchased two of these bottles in total and both were disappointing. The first bottle i had to return because the straw lost suction . I had it for about a month and totally liked it but after i washed it one day when i would sip on it only air would come up. the second one i purchased- to replace the first one, lasted only one day. The whole lid (straw lid) kept popping off of the bottle as if it did not fit properly. The lid wouldn't even seal the bottle tightly without popping off. As far as the insulation feature it works well but the lids need improvement. Now i'm going with the more expensive but hopefully better quality hydroflask .

It arrived looking like it was in good shape but I remembered hearing a little rattle sound when washing it. My husband took it to the gym yesterday though and it had leaked all over his clothes. The bottle must have been cracked or the seal not intact, but this bottle is not usable. I'm a little disappointed since it wasn't really cheap and I had purchased it as a gift.

the straw and the cover do not work. I specially bought this for the straw but it does not work and taste/ smells like rubber. The color changes inside, the shiny stainless color is gone and the water taste like iron after 5 hrs in the bottle. I had to throw this away cause it smells so bad.

This water bottle has changed my life and my dishwasher's energy footprint. My husband used to bring home those giant plastic cups from various restaurants and every morning he'd fill one with ice water for his drive to work, and in his car those cups would stay. Then once a week (or two...or three...) he'd bring in this enormous stack of huge cups. Do you think all those huge cups would fit in the dishwasher in one load with the daily dish stacks that four kids create? Heck no! So they'd stay stacked in the sink or on the counter or on the garage floor until the dishwasher freed up enough to fit them. A friend of mine told me about this water bottle, said it was one of her all-time favorite things, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Bought one for my husband and one for me. How many stacks of cups has my husband brought in from his car since owning this water bottle? ZERO! Zero stacks, zero cups, period! This bottle keep his water ice cold alllllll day--through his drive to work, all day at work, through his drive back home, and all night in his nightstand. He left it behind at work accidentally one day and couldn't get it back for 3 days--it's the closest I've seen him come to tears over an inanimate object, ever. Thank you, MAPS United, for creating such an amazing, temperature-controlled water bottle.

The bottle is made very well. The original plastic cap with rubber side is connected well to the top. My only disappointment is the additional drinking cap that comes with it. I was shipped to me with a broken straw attachment. See my provided pictures. Like I said "functional but broken". Unhappy! It's like onwing a pair of socks with a big hole in the front of them. Yes they will still keep your feet warm but who wants a hole in the foot of their socks. You know what I mean?
