I liked the look of this light (in part because of the pretty pattern on it, I'll admit); but its function turns out not to be as good as its form. The light starts out really bright (almost too bright), but then all too quickly fades to the point that it only lights the top part of the page on the side of the book that it's clipped to. I ended up altogether giving up on clipping it and literally held it over the area of the page I was reading. The battery runs too low after just a few days of moderate use. Battery replacement is a pain--you have to have a tiny screwdriver to unscrew the compartment. Who wants to do that every few days? Also, this light is a bit heavy/clunky for paperbacks.

Ok, this is soooo cute first of all. And it does the trick! My fiancée doesn’t have to be bothered by my occasional late night reading, it allows me to easily see and not strain my eyes, AND it’s cute and tiny. I take it with me whenever I have a book now because even if there’s just poor lighting it helps prevent eye strain for a book worm. The batteries would probably last longer if I didn’t forget to regularly turn it off! But they do last for a good bit and the replacements are easy and cheap. There’s a tiny screw you have to undo to replace so just make sure you have a tiny screwdriver (I used an eyeglass screwdriver from a Dollar Tree eyeglass repair kit I had) and keep up with the screw when you replace. The back isn’t going to stay on as well without it. I temporarily lost the screw but then found it, it’s best with it there :) as an avid reader this is a must have. I wish I’d had one as a kid and in school. Brilliant little device that makes eye strain when binge reading a thing of the past!

This light is perfect for many reasons. First off its cute as hell! For some reason I didn't expect it to be this small, but it's actually the best size for my needs. The light is just bright enough so that it is effective in the dark without being obnoxious & great for during the dim times when you need a little extra light. I got it so that I could read in bed without disturbing my husband but I actually use it for several purposes cause its so stinkin handy. I use it when I'm doing crafts or plucking my eyebrows just to name a few. The clip is light but super sturdy so it clips on to pretty much anything. If I don't have anything to clip it on in front of me, I just clip it to my shirt. The "neck" bends in any direction & stays put when you've positioned it to where you want it. I can't say enough good things about this light ! It's not just for books, I don't know how I've gotten by without it! Lol. I've had mine now for many months & it's still working just as great as when it first arrived. I highly recommend this product & I intend to purchase more😊

Bought this for my daughter to use on road trips and at night in her room. The light is quite bright and clipping it to the back cover of a hard cover book allows her to see both pages very well. The light is focused enough that is doesn't distract the driver when using at night in the backseat of the car. She also uses it for writing/drawing in a notebook. The only things I would have preferred are (1) a bit longer of a bendable wire so she could potentially clip to something further away when using it for purposes other than reading, and (2) a softer light as it seems a bit harsh with the brightness.

This is easily one of the greatest impulse purchases I have made here on Amazon. Honestly, when reading some of the reviews one late night half asleep in bed I thought many people were overexaggerating on how good of a product this is- its incredible. It has worked flawlessly for me on every book that I have used it with, but can tend to struggle a bit with a soft paperback that only requires you to hold it a bit tighter than usual. The light always stays in place, covers both pages perfectly of the large 6x9" Tom Clancy hardcovers I'm currently on. But as I've said previously, it tends to struggle a bit with paperbacks and may move a bit as you read due to its size and weight and the problems seems to get bigger for larger paperbacks. For anyone who needs a light for hardcover, here it is. For those with paperbacks, maybe look around a bit first

This is my fourth attempt to find an efficient book light that will really work and by far the most successful. This little gadget generates a bright enough light to read without having to adjust angles several times a page. It also has a strong clip that hangs on to the book just where you want it. It is my second purchase of the 'French Bull' as I dropped the first one on a hard tile floor in the middle of the night and after that the light was too dim. I have bought another and am being very careful not to drop it. Batteries are very accessible and easy to replace. It's a useful vacation aide as you can also use it to find your way to the bathroom in strange hotel rooms without disturbing your roommate!

I bought this for my mom to use on her clip board while she is doing her dot to dot puzzles. She doesn't move it much while she's working so it stays put. I dont want to say it's flimsy because it does work, and it does stay in place, but if you move around alot while reading or for whatever you are using it for, it may not stay put. I would definitely buy it again and my sister said she liked it also. Good price. It lights up a whole page on the clip board and it's not an annoying bright light. Mom has alzheimers so we aren't ever really sure if she will put up with new stuff. She was fine with this addition and it's easy to turn off and on.

So I am a handy man and modify these to provide light for TV remotes. I do this in one of two ways. The first is I remove the clip half without the attached goose neck. The remaining half I file down and use crazy glue to attach to the bottom of my Vizio TV remote, works great (pictures provided). The second way is for my TCL 4 series remote. Disassemble the remote, drill a hole in the lower end of the transmitter lens, cut the lights goose neck from the clip, pass the goose neck through the hole and glue it to the remote interior. Reassemble the remote (sorry no pictures of this one). Cheers
