Practical and presentable
Read the other reviews regarding fit / size. I'm about 5'10" 175 lbs (177 cm, 80 kg), 33 or 34 inch (84 cm) waist, 30 inch (76 cm) inseam. I bought XL and the waist and length are perfect. I've wore these around the house for an hour, and I've one 30 mile ride, and two 10 mile work commute rides in them on subfreezing 30 F (-2 C) windy weather days. These aren't form fitting spandex type bike pants, nor are they loose sweat or warm up pants. There's a sort of quilted insulated lining - just enough to add warmth, but not so much that you'll be sweating on frosty days. They're a loose enough that I could wear running tights or long underwear underneath if I was going to be out in 0F (-18C) weather. There are zip slash pockets, which comfortably held some currency, ID and debit cards. The zip openings at the legs are gusseted, but open sufficiently to go over boots, or a probably to put them on or take them off without removing bike shoes (I wouldn't, You could, but why?). There is some difference between the fabric on the front and the fabric on the back, making the front a little more wind resistant than the back, but not visibly so. I expect I'll be buying a second pair of these - not for biking, but for windy chilly days when I'm working on the beach. They're good for biking, probably for xc skiing. They'd probably not be good for sitting in a stadium or on a ski lift. I wish they had some reflective material or accent near the knees for bike commuting, but I'm sure that would add to the dork factor that middle age men already have on bikes - and might not appeal to the rest of the consumers.

Excellent pants for winter hiking!
I read the other customer reviews carefully before purchasing these pants, which I intended to use for winter hiking in the Catskill Mountains of New York. While the pants were designed for hiking, many of the reviewers noted that they were excellent for many outdoor activities in the winter, including hiking. They were absolutely correct. These are the best wintertime hiking pants that I have ever purchased. They are remarkably comfortable. I used them three days ago on a 6.6-mile hike in 15-degree weather, gaining approximately 2,000 feet of elevation. They kept me warm and dry, and they flexed in a way that kept me comfortable throughout an arduous, icy hike.Those who enjoy hiking in the winter should definitely purchase these pants.

Pants were made great, the sizing is way off though
Pants were made great, the sizing is way off though. I bought a 3XL based on the provided sizing, I'm 6'2" 187+. These fit as good as trying on my dads jeans when I was 6 years old. The sizing said a 3XL should fit 188-198 lbs and 6'-6'1". The length wasn't too crazy long, I normally wear a 34" length in jeans, but the legs/waist were ridiculous. Borderline MC Hammer pants they were so baggy and I'm so old for using that reference. Yeah yeah I'm skinny and slightly fit but I don't see how you can be the height/weight combo they suggested w/o being somewhat similar to my body type so I don't think I'm an outlier in terms of freak athlete or giraffe tall.They went back in the bag and UPS is set to pick them up tomorrow. Not sure what size to buy that will actually fit.**** Updated - I got a size large and they're a little short but fit pretty good otherwise. No idea why they suggest an xxxl.

GREAT!! You can NOT beat these!!
These fit GREAT!! I'm 5'9" about 190lbs the XL perfect! Just enough room for base layers and plenty of mobility!The length is perfect!Time will tell how well they gold up but I'm pretty impressed so far!They look great and are extremely comfortable!I'll be buying another pair if these hold up!!

Incredible value - order a bit larger than you think you need!
I was beyond pleasantly surprised with these pants - definitely order a size or two up though. I am 5' 2", about 135 lbs, with a 32" waist around the hips (where I wear my pants) and the 133-155 LBS HEIGHT: 5.7 - 5.9ft M fit PERFECTLY. The quality is surprisingly great, and the details like zip-up pockets, zippers near the ankles, draw-string belt, the tailoring to better fit slightly-bent or bent knees, and the like make these a great piece of gear for winter cycling, snowshoeing, or on-foot commute. They block wind very, very well. The stitching is sturdy and secure at every seam. I will probably buy another pair before these vanish as I know I'll regret it if I don't!

I was not sure I would like the pants, being that I usually have to try on pants before purchasing them to know if they fit me properly. I am not very tall (5 feet 5 inches) and medium build, so I took the medium size pants for fear that the small size would be too tight. The pants fit great and did not droop down at the heels the way I thought they would. Moreover, they make me look more athletic and they look pretty cool. I have taken them hiking in the snow and stayed warm. My favorite part of the pants is that the surface repels water--they do not get wet (pic)--perhaps only through the seams, if you dive in a pond. I was literally sitting on snow and the moisture did not pass through the pants. I also wore them in the rain and did not get my legs wet; everyone else I went with got their pants soaking wet--they were so jealous. THese are the best pants I have for colder, outdoor activities. Oh, and they are stretchy, which helped for a more comfortable hiking experience.
