Yoloha Aura Cork Mat review
First of I wanted to get this mat because the cork was different from anything else I have seen and interested me. Second because I do primarily hot yoga and sweat alooooot and wanted to see if the claims held up. My other mat is lululemon that was suppose to have a no slip surface and it did... for about 5 months before it wore off and I was sliding again, I have been using that for 2 years. Plus I was tired of using towels that always got in the way. So far this mat is awesome! it is super comfortable to practice on because the added cushion of the cork, My wrists and joints thank you on that(I am a 265lb male). But most importantly when I sweat i don't slip AT ALL during hot classes. I let a few of my teachers try it for a class and they also loved it and talked about getting some in stalk for their studios. I know it has a life time guarantee(which my lulu used too but now doesn't for some reason?), but I am still interested to see how well the cork/rubber holds up as both cork and rubber do eventually tend to break apart when dry. AS for non heated classes, like others have said, you do need to wet the mat a little for added grip but that is not a big deal. Oh it also dries super fast too, I stretch it out after a class and it air drys in a few hoursOne month update: Apparently there isn't a lifetime guarantee but they will work with you. Also for this particular mat you will still slip if you over saturate it (water, sweat). plus after about two weeks or so a very small piece(1x1 cm) of the cork top came off exposing the underlining .

Sadly disappointed
I wanted to like this yoga mat and was very excited when the package came in sooner than projectedHowever I was immediately disappointed upon opening because the box was soaked for some reason. I don’t blame the company. But what was frustrating was that when you open the box, it’s just the mat - no protective plastic or fabric covering or anything. So if the box got wet, the inside got wet too at some point. Also there was no indication that the mat was so exposed, so when I boxcut the packaging tape, I accidentally sliced into the mat itself. Heartbreaking. Thankfully not too deep but definitely a long slice. Not a good first impression at all. I wish they had put something on the outside to warn customers of this. It could have been avoided. Now on to the mat itself:I’ve owned a cork mat (different company) before so I thought I knew what to expect. But the cork had fine micro cork particles that kept getting worse and more abundant throughout my first practice. I don’t really know how to fix that. And it was really irritating to feel such granules on my hands and the bottoms of my feet. At times it felt like someone had SPRINKLED CINNAMON all over my mat. I was very distracted and nervous while doing headstand. The thought of it all engrained into my scalp was... 🥴I really wanted to love this. The grip was good. The mat was comfortably thick. But the above mentioned was just so distracting and disappointing for my practice.

Is this new?
I just received my "new" mat. It looks like there are footsteps on it. I have included pictures. Did someone return it and you shipped this to me me? What is the meaning of this. I was excited for the new mat, then disgusted and now angry. I waz just about start a session and stood at the bottom and looked down to see what looked like footprints. I grabbed my phone and took these pics. spent way too much money to get a used mat. I don't care if someone stood on it for 2 seconds.

updated regarding still slippery
updated: recently found a tip to minimized the slippery by wiping down the whole mat with a towel soaked with luke warm water. Pretty much soak the mat then dry it. Now, I could do all the yoga poses without sliding. I do love the mat but was disappointed until now. Now, I'm loving it through and through. 3/26/2019I loved the way the mat look and feel. However, I have to keep a spray bottle of water near by to wet the mat all the time so my hands and feet wouldn't slide. I even contacted the Yoloha company and bought the yoga mat cleaner. Nothing works at this time and I'm still sliding. So sad that I paid so much for the mat and I couldn't do "downward dog pose" without sliding.

Loving my new yoga mat
I love the material! I have been searching for a good yoga mat for a while. I got tired of the rubber one and wanted a environment friendly mat. It was expensive but I'm glad I took a risk and bought it! I don't regret it at all, I'm 5'3 and its perfect for me, the design is beautiful and it's not so thin. It came with a lovely thank you letter that you can plant. I'm so happy with my purchase! Thank you Yoloha!

Comfort & functionality
This mat was purchased as a gift to a professional yoga instructor. She loves it! The material affords excellent cushioning for her knees, elbows, etc. while ensuring good grip and positioning. It's a little heftier, a bit heavier than garden-variety yoga mats, but this doesn't seem to be an issue. Overall, a very good product!

Not what I expected :(
This mat is extra long and being 5'9" that is important for planks and DFD's - However, I bought it to support my 50-something knees in hot yoga. It is cushiony which is great but it also peels and is slippery and I think that the cork might cause skin allergies. For the price and crafts-personship I am disappointed.

Still sliding in down dog!
I bought this mat because I never could get a grip on my other one. I bought the 80 inch version so I don't end up off it...ever. I used it for a over a year, but I still slip because I am one of those people who does not develop hand or foot (there is no nice way to say it) sweat, so with dry hands and feet, it's a slippery position!Update: April, 2021. I have been using this mat at home, upside down for a year! But even on the rubber side, I still have to hold onto the sides to prevent slipping in down-dog.
