Bravo Schrade!!
This is a very nice edc blade if you don't mind bulky folding knives. At first, I thought this was a heavy duty blade, and while it certainly can perform some heavy duty functions, I wouldn't say it's a heavy duty folder, but more of a medium-duty work knife. It comes razor sharp with steel that it easy to sharpen, and the assisted opening feature is just incredible! The SCHA4BG is adequate for every day carry applications, and can serve as an emergency tactical blade, but be careful of the liner lock----in general, I am always wary of liner locks. I wish that I had bought two of these things which is something that I do quite frequently with knives that I really like. If you are looking for an edc with fast deployment, easy to sharpen steel which can take a razor edge for a good price and you don't mind a bulky knife, then look no further because your ship has come in, and it's called the SCHA4BG.

Schrade delivers
The knife fits perfectly in my medium size hands and has a grip that can withstand any environment. This knife is sharp enough out of the box. The assisted opening is wicked cool as the blade launches out with authority. The knife has solid lock up and deep carry pocket clip. This is a value folder and you will be very pleased if you buy it. Yes, buy it and you will smile with ease because you will take great comfort knowing that this value knife will comfortably get the job done.Great job Schrade for the thoughtful design that went into this knife. I am impressed!

Sturdy Knife
Sturdy knife, fits hand well but safety switch is too small and difficult to slide especially in an emergency situation.

Great, but safety broke within 2 weeks
I've taken this EDC with me for a variety of tasks-and use the safety to prevent the blade from releasing in my pocket. Unfortunately in the first few weeks the safety broke, and now I can just fling the blade open... but it's still functional. It sharpens easily and holds an edge well, but for the price I'd recommend a Smith and Wesson M&P like the SWMP4PLS. Overall, it's an ok folder. The liner lock hasn't failed me at all.

Exactly what I was looking for.....
This knife is super sharp, feels very good in the hand and opens as fast as any switch blade I've seen or used. I was surprised how nice and sturdy the knife is considering how little I paid. Excellent locking blade, closed or open. I highly recommend it for just general use.The only downside would be that it is a little thick but if it weren't, it would have a different feel and handling to it.

so far so good
good ergonomics, sharp blade and seemingly good mechanical action with the mechanism. I like that you can lock the knife closed. I have not used the knife in the field as yet, so I don't know how it will perform in filed dressing game. I like how nice and light weight it is. Lets see if that will translate into function and durability in the field

Works well if you don't mind it opening in your pocket...
At first, it worked well and did what a knife should do. It seemed sturdy and relatively sharp. I like the way it fits my hand, and the assisted-open feature made opening it very easy. The problems started 2-3 months after receiving it. I noticed that the knife opened in my pocket a couple of times without my intention. I assumed something hit the thumb stud or the additional part on the back of the knife that can be used to open it. After that, I began locking it when I put it in my pocket. However, it kept happening and would even open enough with the lock engaged to jab me in the leg. Having the lock on also makes it more difficult to open. When the knife opens with the lock engaged, you actually have to push the bade completely in, release the lock and then open it. It also gets hung up sometimes being partially opened and locked at the same time. To use this in a self-defense situation would require about a five minute advanced notice. I can actually set the knife down on a table now in the closed position, and it will open itself without any outside help within about 30 seconds. Sometimes it will happen before I can even set it down.I considered sending it back for repair, but it would cost at least $15 with no real promise of resolving the issues. I'll probably just put that money toward another knife.
