Q: The pilot doesn’t fit inside the airplane. There isn’t enough headroom, correct? My child is getting frustrated.

I brought the set for my 3 yr old grandson. I think it would be fine for a 3-1/2. We don't live in the same state so I don't know how much time he plays with it.

Q: Do you have to completely disassemble the plane to place the passengers inside the cabin?

No. Just pop the top half off. The plane consists of 2 halves that easily pop together ... top (red) and bottom (white). The wheel set is separate and pops onto the bottom and is compatible with all other Duplo Lego wheeled vehicles. My 3 y/o grandson loves this set and the size and shapes of the pieces are perfect for his toddler-sized hands. The figures are very cute and the pilot is decked out in captain duds. The wee suitcases open/close and are big enough to hide things in. This set features lots of interesting pieces that are really fun to use in other Duplo Lego scenarios that the kiddos dream up.

Q: Can I get it gift wrapped?

I supose you can, but I don't know, cause I bought it without it.
