Harder than I thought
I had quite a time installing these. There were no instructions included. I went to youtube to see others install them. All the videos I saw the hold downs were in two parts. These came put together so the first task was to figure out how to get them apart (I cut the old ones off with wire cutters as I had no other idea how to get them out). Ended up using a small screwdriver (eyeglass screwdriver) to press a tab to get them apart. Good thing that was easy since I had to take them apart several times. I first put them together on the het sink but then could not get them all to latch at the same time. Long story shortened I ended up putting the one half in the motherboard then set the heatsink over them and finally placing the other half on and turning and snapping them in place.

Works on a LGA 1366
After my computer would shut down after less then 30 seconds on, I traced it to the CPU (i-930 Nehalem) overheating due to the heatsink no longer properly being mounted. Three of the four mounting pins were broken. After a lot of searching for a solution, I came upon these replacement mounting pins. Even though they are specified for a LGA 775 socket, they worked with my stock Intel heatsink/fan on my Gigabyte LGA 1366 X58A-UD3R.As another reviewer mentioned, it was a bit of a pain getting the white pin and black holder apart (I used a very small flat head screw driver to assist), but once that was done installation was easy.

Great replacement, but what a pain.
I got these quite a while ago. Got tired of waiting and bought another cpu fan while waiting for these pins.I Just put them in the old fan to have a spare Intel cpu fan. My fingertips are killing me! You have to get a 1.4 mm screwdriver and place pressure with your fingertips on the white part against the black part of the pins where they adjust, on the bottom of it while you carefully lift ever so slightly the 2 black pin fasteners on either side.Don't be discouraged that the white part of the pin going through the heat sink is round and the heatsink hole is straight...it will go in with patience and after the first one you're a pro!...your fingertips might be a little sore though for a few minutes, but that's part of the payment:)

great to have on hand
I have looked everywhere for theses. no one carries them. its a lot cheaper than having to buy a new heatsink. when I clean my desktop sometimes you have to take it a part to get all the dust out. it doesn't take long before the dust starts to get thick around the fans and having to clean them and other things that collect dust. after a while the plastic uxcell start to bend and somnetimes break off down at the bottom where they insert into the bottom. so sometimes you need to replace the uxcell.

Met my expectations, which frankly, weren't very high.
They met my expectations. Which weren't very high. One of the push pins refused to lock into place. That does not bode well for protecting my processor. But for the time being, they are holding.I would have used screws and nuts to mount my processor heatsink, but there is no access to the backside of the motherboard in my case. And it is such a ROYAL pain to remove the motherboard. So many cables, hard drives, etc. to remove. Why the dickens the board manufacturer doesn't pressfit a PEM nut into the backside of the board is beyond me. It would make use of a simple machine screw so easy. Instead we have more plastic that can break..That said, at least these things arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and got my machine going again. They were economical.

I would buy from them again
Came way before expected delivery date and they worked great. Your going to have to take a small flathead precison screwdriver and lift on the hardest side and with your other hand, take a finger and lift the other side and pull it apart. Once you get the first one, the rest should be easy.

Works but a pain
I am not sure how you are expected to get the white bit out? I ended up bending them out almost breaking them. Who ever developed this standard to attach the heat sink is a terrible engineer... there are so many better ways...Even though they are a pain... 5 stars because the part comes as expected.

perfect
just what i needed i break these intel plastic cpu cooler mounts all the time they are a little tricky to seperate you need a flat head precision screw driver being very careful and gentle lifting up a little bit on the two black plastic tabs.
