Exceeded expectations
This walking stick perfectly matched my ideal of a blackthorn walking stick. Light, sturdy, and beautiful. I purchased this one as a gift for a special occasion, and since it wasn't for me I was pretty nervous about it.. I had researched blackthorn sticks so I had a good idea of what they should look like.The one in the photograph not only had a nice look but it also happened to be in my rather modest price range, which, frankly, made me a bit nervous. There's always a chance that the item you order won't live up to the picture you have in your mind. I needn't have worried. This one turned out to be the stick of my dreams. Couldn't be more perfect. The recipient was delighted and so am I. Thanks.

Not the quality I anticipated for the price.
The quality of the finish on the cane I would rate at 50%. The black finish is cracking and the clear finish on the handle is rough on my fingers.

I really like my new cane!
Great utility and style; also conversation starter. I ordered two - one inch rubber tips from Amazon for the bottom of the cane. With no tip; the cane slips on hard surfaces. It reminds me of the homeland of my great-great- grandparents.

The wood is poor quality. Bought 3 each more inferior than before. Not buckthorn!!!!!!!

Really too small head to be comfy in my hand
I didn't expect a knob nocker, but this small head makes it truly an accessory stick. If you use it for any support it is uncomfortable. I'm not a big guy 5-10, 160 pounds but my hands are larger. I did expect a heavier stick it being a shillelagh.

Love the Irish walking stick especially helps with people with messed up back severely very good support will buy again

Perfect!
I prayed for the perfect stick and I got it! The right height and it has a slight curve in my palm which makes if very comfortable for walking. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have a stabby point on it but I will get over that. LOL The tip is reinforced which is actually very impressive.
