LG Water and Ice Maker pump replacement EASY DIY
I purchased this pump because my LG French Door refrigerator's water dispenser stopped working. At first the water would trickle out which I assumed was due to a clogged filter. After replacing the filter and still getting low flow, I thought maybe the tubing in the back was clogged so I replaced this as well. When I realized there was nothing left to replace, I searched for the pump. At first I could not seem to find the exact pump. Although entering the part number would generate results, the picture (like the one displayed on this product did not match what I needed. My original pump had to motors. 1 for the filtered water and 1 for the ice machine. There was only one tube heading out of the pump, up the back of the fridge, and into the filter. Then a tube would come out of the filter make a loop and go back into the fridge thereby supplying filtered water to both the water line and the ice machine.I ordered this pump as the only option thinking it would not work. Had it not worked, I would have either gone to purchase a new fridge or just stopped using the water and ice dispenser. When it arrived, I realized I had to remove the second pump that it comes with. This was very easily done and reversible if necessary. The plugs fit in perfectly and the water line fit good too. After several month, the fridge has been working perfectly. Water line pressure is back to normal, ice machine is producing ice again. No leaks. Wish I would have purchased this before all the filter changes and water line retubing. Granted, I refurbished the entire system. From the looks of this pump, if you have an LG fridge with water and ice maker, this pump should work as it seems it is compatible with multiple different fridges although I am not sure about any other brands. My fridge is a French Door purchased back in 2007. Still works great now that this pump has been replaced.

I am going to enjoy writing this review because I have water and ice ...
I am going to enjoy writing this review because I have water and ice cubes again. I am unsure if I would buy this brand LG refrigerator again because either the price for repair was outrageous or the parts were a pain. My ice maker broke and I decided instead of paying a few hundred dollars for repair I would "DIY." As I am not particularly handy around the house this was an enormous job for me. I looked up the repair on Youtube and decided to do it myself. It took me several hours but I installed it and it was producing my beloved ice cubes. The following week we noticed water on the floor by the fridge and the ice making was very slow, investigating this I found the water valve was leaking. This was poor on my part because I had it out previously when repairing the icemaker and debated on changing it then. Since I had it all apart this was the correct thing to do. I didn't.Now for your information and to get to the point I have an LG model LFX 25960ST. I ORDER THE ORIGINAL PART Water Inlet Valve ONLINE AT AMAZON. Clearly I was confused because the water valve I removed looked completely different than the replacement I ordered. Every thing I read directed me to the upgraded water valve. I am here to say DON'T BE Afraid, THE NEWER REPLACEMENT FITS IN THE AREA AND WORKS CORRECTLY. One thing, there is and extra wire on this valve, just leave it hanging, it do not have a plug on this refrigerator. It really had me going. In the end I hooked it all up and in twelve hours the fridge was and is producing ice cubes. As a previous review said, the part did not match the one it was to replace, contacted the seller and was advised that LG had service notes on removing the wiring harness and connecting directly to the refrigerator. Followed the recommendation and installed the part, works fine. Would have been helpful if service instructions had been included. AND I AGREE.Points to remember:go to Youtube and look at the video repairsUnplug firstturn off waterhave plenty of roombag all screwstake pictures of everythingyou will find this very important days laterAND REMEMBER THERE IS A SPECIFIC WAY TO REMOVE THE HOSE FROM THE WATER VALVE. JUST DON'T PULL IT OUT.I did, darn it, I cause my own problem.

20 minute install **IF** wiring harness was the same
Confirmed on multiple sites this was the correct part # to replace my leaking unit on my LG model # LFX25975ST/03. Watched the DIY videos, looked and was a piece of cake to install. Observed the units were visually different prior to installation, but went ahead anyway given all the 5 star reviews. After installation had water again for 60 seconds, then threw a 'C1' error code (non-descript). Researched on a couple sites and found the following language as the wiring harnesses between the OLD and NEW units were different (in addition to the second pump which others have noted). Here's what it said: "If original valve has different connector setup, trace valve harness up to the main harness and remove the small piece of harness and plug valve directly into harness." Ok, that wasn't helpful. So took a leap and simply tried to transfer the old harness to the new....which you can't easily (doesn't plug in, has different qty of wires and you can't re-pin the connector). So, I snipped the wires of both and re-wired the old harness to the new valve. Installed (again) and the water works with no error codes. I also removed the (unused) second pump in the second install. 1 day later, ice and water are working fine.
