So far so good
I'll start off by saying that one of the sensors was defective and constantly showed closed even when the window was open.I started getting false alarms from one of the zones in my home which have 3 of these recessed sensors. They were 16 years old and I was worried about disturbing the wiring, but replacement was very easy. The old ones look similar to these. Once replaced everything checked out, and best of all no more false alarms!

The relay contact works great
As advertised. On time. The magnets are not very strong. If there is any steel near your installation it will shunt the magnet. I had to use neodymium bar magnets, mounted with caulking.

this drives me crazy the people do not understand normally open and normally closed circuit so many advertisers list them incorrectly is why there is so much confusion.A normally open switch, meansthe contracts are positioned so that they are not touching. Except when a magnet is moved close to the switch, it pulls one of the contracts towards the other so that they are touching, and therefore completing the circuit. Remove the magnet and the contacts return to their original position or NOrmal state breaking the circuit. in other words if you were to sit the contact on a table with nothing around it that is its normal state. (in this case NORMALLY OPEN)no contract. it only changes it's state when acted upon by some force whether it's your finger or a magnet or something else.

2 out of 6 were no good.
I just needed 3 and glad I ordered the bag of 6…. 2 of them were no good and one the reed switch is very weak… or strong i guess. It only closed sporadically even with the magnet right on it. My suggestion is make sure and order plenty extra.

worked perfectly to modify my ring sensor
They have 2.5 ohms when closed. One had 8 ohms (defective - not worth returning) Still 4 sensors for the price is good. Very happy with the purchase otherwise.

good product and very durable
This is a very useful product because it allows me to use the existing wires in the wall to install a new sensor. Screws hold firmly and are well slotted for good grip.
