Very nice pole pruner
My use for this pruner is strictly for cutting shooting lanes for Deer stands. It breaks down to about 3' 6" and fits in the case included nicely. It has the length I need for any situation and haven't had any problems using it. Trying to carry a traditionally long pole pruner is a problem and glad I found it. One thing I found annoying was the pull rope is VERY short! I address this on the first use. Thank you to the previous reviewer that mentioned that! The shoulder strap on the case isn't what I had hoped for because I'm either on an ATV or hiking, it isn't really functional for that. I fixed that with some backpack straps easy enough. Lastly they are noisy being hollow fiberglass poles and I prefer something as quite as possible. I used shrink boot just over the metal end sections and it's virtually silent now. I don't think the average user would be concerned about that but I found it an easy fix. I use a pole pruner A LOT and would highly recommend this product!

This is a terrible pole pruner!
In all ways, this is a TERRIBLE product. The threads of each section are only about 1/2in long and machined badly. When assembled to it's longer lengths, the handle will not support it's own weight and wants to buckle pulling the sections apart. The saw blade is useless the way the teeth are cut on it. even with it attached to only the cutting head, you can't cut ANYTHING! The string on the cutter was so thin that it jumps off the pulleys and gets jammed. I removed and replaced the string with 1/4 in. poly rope. I can only use it with 2 or 3 of the 6 sections. It is the last choice of all my cutters. DO NOT SELL!

Worth the money to me for especially high limb trimming of small limbs
It is a great product for small, high limb trimming. It does take time to put on or take off additional sections one at a time. In other words, there is no telescoping aspect like some other similar products. It is very sharp and easy to use. It does not get stuck like my old trimmer which is nice. One problem is that the rubber bae is already worn out and I had to duct tape - not affect functionality of the product

Advantages and Disadvantages- Not for Laborers
Poles and carrying bag are great, except that the polls screw on, so they tend to come unscrewed while in use. The segments make the length/weight adjustable. That saved a lot of effort. The blade, while fairly sharp, is pretty flimsy. This made the work cumbersome, frustrating, and way more time consuming than was necessary. I would have happily paid more for a high quality blade and would even purchase an upgraded blade (or have one made) to keep the pole height and adjustability. For folks who rely on good tools to do hard physical labor, my advice is to pick a better tool. For the occasional gardener or hobbyist, this tool has some advantages and would probably work just fine.

Item is too flimsy. It bent on the first cut. The blade is worthless.
On the four cut the rope snapped. The only good thing about this item is the rod. The actual cutting mechanism is a toy. I will not recommend this item to anybody, not even good for light work. I don't think this will qualify for return, since all cutting mechanism is bent.

Heavy AND Flimsy
I was so excited to receive this product and use it - I thought I'd finally found the solution to trimming tree branches. Alas, I was mistaken. Upon assembly, the pole part of this product is unnecessarily heavy but also flimsy - as you use the product, the joints loosen, so the entire pole starts to sway and twist as you're cutting. Further, the blade attachment was woefully inadequate; for such a heavy pole, the blade was disproportionately thin and lacked the cutting power I needed. In all, what should have taken maybe an hour took all evening, mainly because I was fighting against the product and trying to dislodge a stuck saw blade from tree branches. If I were you, I'd look elsewhere.

Works well, but use with care
My first time using this type of trimmer. Works well, but spring fell off when it got caught in the branches. Was lucky to find the spring, reinstalled, and continued trimming. I will look to get spare back up springs. When pole is fully extended and on an angle, have someone help. Took breaks every so often, got job done, and am ready for next time. I did not need to use the saw yet.
