Does what it’s supposed to
Works exactly how it’s supposed to. This Barely and I mean barely fits into place on my car. I wish they made more flexible version for manual cars. While I doubt this would prevent a skilled lock picker, or even blunt force, it serves as a visual deterrent and will slow them down at the least. I recently got my car stolen and had I had about 30 more seconds I would’ve seen it happening before they drove away. Yes there’s no way to stop someone who really wants your car with just a lock, but you can help deter them, and make it as hard as possible for them.

Quality is very cheap
The quality is very cheap and I was able to take it off very easily while it was in its “locked” position. This does not work well for stick shift cars

This product WORKS!!!!
I went through 2 before buying this one, sturdy, easy to use, locks quickly great value. I really do recommend this. There was an attempt to steal my car and the thieves couldn't take it because of this lock. My car alarm didn't go off. I work up to my window busted out..But still have my car

Excellent Car Security Device
I recently bought a snazzy red car, and this will give me some comfort to know that they would have a formidable obstacle to overcome to steal it. I used to have a silver-colored lock, just like this one, a little different design, but the lock was sluggishly unresponsive to the key, even after lubrication, so I decided to throw it out. With this one, I don't have this problem. This lock is simple to use: just slide it onto the emergency brake handle, wrap it around the gearshift box while in Park, line up the holes, and push down on the lock button. To free it up, just slide in the key and turn to unlock, then slide the whole thing off. The instructions are skimpy and illegible, but you don't really need them, it's so simple and obvious to set up. The yellow color makes it easy to spot from the outside, so a thief would see it instantly. Overall,it's great!

Simple Yet Effective
After my Mother’s recent brush with car theft, I purchased this for her 2001 Corolla, as a deterrent for any thieves who may think about stealing her car. It’s such a simple device but it does the job and works great. It has a bit of heft to it, feels really sturdy, is fairly adjustable, and when it’s on and locked you can’t even budge the gear shifter or parking brake, so even if someone can hotwire the car they won’t be able to put it in to “Drive.” The only thing about the lock device is that it is not able to lock onto the parking brake and gear shifter if it is set all of the way, and I mean as far as the parking brake can be pulled. I’ve only experienced that once, and my Mom only pulls the parking brake about 3/4 of the way and she can still put the lock on with ease every time. Overall, it’s a great buy for a simple yet effective device.

Doesn't fit a Toyota 4Runner. Or a Miata. Buyer beware.
We've got two cars with stick shifts: a 1999 4runner and a 1992 Miata. Whilst somewhat adjustable, this thing doesn't fit on/work for either of them, so I can't imagine what cars it would actually fit on. Should have returned it, but you have to cut it out of the packaging to find out it doesn't work...

Works, but needs grease.
This lock is well-designed for security and convenience, and has lasted me 2 years so far, but here are some pro tips:- GREASE the lock cylinder and the key just a tiny bit. Otherwise it sticks sometimes.- Use an Exacto knife to cut off the ending flap of black rubber (as shown in photo), as this is easier to lock and does no harm.- PROTECT your gear stick leather. This duct tape in the photo has done the job well for me.- Keep both keys IN the car (one within easy reach but hidden or in a purse, and the other in deep storage maybe in the trunk) -- not outside the car. If the car gets stolen anyway, you're not going to need the keys.
