Q: It says in the title 18oz, but in the description, it says 12oz. Anyone know the actual thickness of this tarp?

The sellers answer sounds legit to me. I have used cotton duck canvas to make hammocks. That said, advertising the treated weight, 18oz, I would call deceptive advertising. The treatment has nothing to do with the thickness of the canvas which is categorized in ounces. This is 12oz canvas and should be advertised as such. There is a very noticeable difference (through just touch/feel) in thickness (strength) between #8 canvas (18 oz) and #10 canvas (14.75 oz). 12 oz must be significantly thinner (weaker) than 18 oz canvas.

Q: I need to know what I would be buying here I want 18 ounce other places say it’s 12 ounce please confirm

The ones that I purchased certainly seem to be 18 ounce to me and very good quality.

Q: I live in Colorado, so, the tarp will take a sun and weather beating outside. Is there a method to re-treat the waxing as maintenance?

I have had it in the sun all summer in Texas and looks great still.
