Has anybody tried this after others in a similar price bracket?

I bought this after buying the Neo-G model. I found this more comfortable than the neo g . In fairness though I think it all depends on your shape. The pressure pad is a little wider on this model and the belt strap broader. Hope that helps

Is it suitable for large hernias or just small ones?

Cannot really comment on the size of hernia issue as I am not sure what relative sizes there are. I would guess mine was somewhere in the middle. I can say that the belt is very well made, has plenty of adjustment ( secured with strong velcro) and was easy to use. It did provide good relief most of the time put continuous pressure for long periods does produce a dull aching. The trick is to place the pad correctly and (if possible) push the hernia back in place before securing the belt.

Can you play badminton with it

I'm sorry but I cannot resist this - no you cannot play badminton with it, you will be far better off with a badminton racquet. On a more helpful note, you will find any exercise requiring decent mobility difficult as the pad is bulky. You will also find the strap between your legs will chafe. Personally I gave it up after a couple of uses and it was not needed post surgery.

Could I wear this in a swimming pool?

The truth is I'm not sure. The material is 50% polyester, 20% nylon and 30% spandex. Obviously you need to adjust the belt so that it fits with exactly the right amount of pressure in the hernia area. If the effect of the pool water were to make the thing loosen or tighten you have a problem - I would guess that this 'materials' question is one for the manufacturer. Sorry not to be more helpful.
