I have arthritis as well as a locked thumb on my writing hand and could barely sign my name anymore. I discovered these pens by accident and am SO very grateful that I did. The design is perfect - comfortable thickness, good grip material. I can once again write! Great value too - 5 pens plus 5 refills! Highly recommend!

This pen is simply amazing!! I have severe spine damage that causes my hands to be very difficult to control. Thus my ability to do even the simplest of tasks such as write with a standard pen or pencil turns out to be nearly impossible. However, after having tried every “fat pen” I could find, this one actually works really well. Further, it remains comfortable even if I have to write for a long while. It may look a bit odd at first glance, bug that’s why it’s so GREAT!!! Lots of thought and design engineering has gone into this pen and it will fit virtually every hand shape. I know that because due to the vast day-to-day difference in my hands and arms, they are very different even from hour-to-hour. But this pen is made so it can be held and gripped in an endless variety of ways to compensate for me hands at any time.It’s the only device I can comfortably write with and I leave one in different locations so there’s always one available. I suggest you try it. You can always return it if you don’t like it. The seller is very helpful. I had a couple of questions and he responded to me very quickly and answered all my questions to my complete satisfaction!

Good design, but ink sucks.I have swelling in the tendon of my thumb (like carpal tunnel but affecting specifically my thumb). I usually grip writing utensils in a way that causes/worsens this (sharply and overly flexed thumb). These help me not to grip that way. My tenosynovitis wouldn't have improved without these!I strongly prefer gel pens though, so I had to find Parker style refills to replace the regular ballpoint ink these came with.

Got this for a relative w/ gout. This made writing easier for them during the worst of flare ups. Thank you to the seller!

My elderly mother has arthritis in her hands and has been struggling with writing for some time now. These pens work well for her and she really likes them. Not sure what the cords are for but they can be removed. Very happy with these pens!

I really like these pens & they helped with my hand issue when writing. The only issue I have is that the ink is too "runny" when I write...Other than that, it's fine.

Thixotropic Super Big Fat Pens were great for arthritic hands, especially if your thumb and fingers are arthritic. It is big enough to grasp easily, without needing much pressure to hold it.I have had these pens before in the clear and black, I love the blue, they are so pretty.I wish that the lanyard to hold it was longer. It easily goes over my head, but it is too short to wear it while writing. It does however work if you want to hang the pen up.

These are the best. I can not write with a normal pen or pencil without excruciating thumb pain. Using these makes the pain very minimal
