Great Drum Mic
These mics sound awesome. All I do is gate these and tweak the channel EQ a little depending on which tom / frequency I want to accent. They sound awesome - pro all the way. These mics are basically Beta 56 that are made in China to keep the cost down. Good rugged metal case and screen. And they coume with a killer clip on drum mount that's made of hard rubberlike material that won't mar your rims. I would definitely buy them again!

PG56-LC makes it easy to expand on PGDMK6 drum mic kit
I purchased this PG56-LC to expand my existing Shure PGDMK6-XLR drum set microphone kit which already contains 3 PG56 mics, but I have a 1 snare + 4 toms, so I needed 2 more in order to have individual mics for each tom. In my experience so far it is easier to extract good sound from drums with individual mics rather than trying to capture multiple items with a single mic. On the other hand, I see (hear) no need to have individual mics for hi-hat and other cymbals when I use two PG81 condenser mics overhead. The supplied cable with PG56-XLR is only 15 ft long, which even in my small setup is too short (need 25 ft), so opted for the -LC version. These mics sound awesome, very warm and clean. The PG56s are super directional and pickup almost nothing from other drums when mounted on the supplied A50D rim mounts and pointed towards the drum head. Note that the current amazon description for PG56-LC omits the fact that an A50D rim mount is included in each PG56-LC package (I have submitted a modification request for the description that corrects this omission). These rim mounts are just perfect for the PG56s, just mount and forget. I run all the mics into a Behringer XENYX 2442 mixer with USB interface, which I run into Studio Mini XL app on my iPad via iPad camera kit USB adapter. Still experimenting with all this but so far I have been very happy with the results.

OPEN PACKAGE, MISSING ITEMS, DOES NOT LOOK NEW
I recently bought a PG-56 from "miss-mdm" (the seller). The product did not arrive in the right conditions. The packaging was open and there were missing some "included" items, the bag (pouch) was missing, the drum clip was missing (sold separately in AMAZON at $15), and the XLR cable does not seem to match the original SHURE-quality cables, (the canon connectors are cheap). Taking into consideration the obviously mishandled package I would even dare to believe the mic is not completely brand-new, some tiny dents in the Mic may also suggest that...Terrible Choice, the mic seems to work fine, but the rest was a awful surprise! I have been buying from Amazon for years and it is the first time I receive and article in such condition!!

Great Percussion Mic!
I love the design of this mic. I use it to mic my congas. I am using an LP mic claw tp attach the mic and it allows for perfect placement for optimum sound. This mic design is great for any drum application. The price was good and it is a quality Shure product. Highly recommend it.

Great drum mic
Incorporated this into my set. Using it on my snare. Picks it up very clean and clear. Mixed in well with the other mics I use. Overall I am very satisfied.

Great mic. I play cajón and it works perfect with the lows and the highs. You will need a stand for the microphone to work better.
