The World Record Paper Airplane Book (Paper Airplanes)

Great book. Nice information and easy to follow directions
We've purchased a number of paper airplane books, and this is by far our favorite. If you are interested in the basics of how planes fly, it has a brief introduction. Then it has a section that talks about the different paper models. Some of them are inspired on historic airplanes, and the authors give little pieces of trivia on those. For each plane they also explain how the plane will fly, the best way to throw them, and adjustments to make if the plane doesn't fly as expected. The last section includes colorful paper, with cool designs. There are several copies of each airplane (so perfect for a small group of kids), and the instructions are clear to follow by anyone 6 years and up (maybe even younger). They are simple - most only need folding - and fun to fly.Highly recommended for hours of fun and educational value.

The best
This is the Book to get for the ultimate paper airplanes, all others are merely cheap imitations! This book has been around for over 25 years because I had one as a kid.

Great new paper planes!
My third grader had a market day where the kids get to come up with a business, name it and make the products to sell. He and his partner chose to do paper airplanes and this book was a total hit for the two of them. They didn't make much money but I think they had more fun learning the cool new airplanes to make. The patterned paper that is in the book is really cool, wish it was easier to tear out for kids, it seemed to tear easy but I think it's because they weren't doing just right. My favorite one that I didn't think would really fly was the cylinder. It totally flies and so easy to make along with the helicopter thing. It's a lot of fun and totally recommend even for just having for rainy days or the kid who loves making paper airplanes!

Amazing Paper Airplanes
My 6 year old considers himself a paper airplane making expert so he was very excited to get this book.Pros:1. Exciting, colorful paper airplanes (if you can manage to make them).2. Directions are clear and easy enough for my 6 year old to follow.Cons:1. Some of the perforated edges cut into the design destroying the plane before you even try to remove the paper from the book.2. It's nearly impossible to remove the pages from the book without ripping (and thus destroying) the paper airplane before you even start. Part of this is due to Con #1 (stated above) and part of it is due to the poor function of the perforated edges.3. In some of the designs, the lines on the front of the design do not match the lines on the back of the design. So, there is some guesswork required in figuring out where to fold and cut.Of note:1. There are 20 different designs for you to make with a few copies of each design. This comes in handy when you rip a tiny piece of the page while carefully trying to remove it from the book. (See Con #2).2. The Cons are not deal breakers. I still recommend this book. Just be prepared to be very frustrated.

This book is really well written and simple. It explains basic paper plane aerodynamics and comes with all the necessary materials to make 20 different plane models. This is honestly such a great gift idea for a young child and probably any adult who likes these sorts of activities. I bought this who my boyfriend who is trying to become a pilot. I thought this would be a fun date activity to do together. I remember building paper planes in a few of my science classes in high school, so building a few together is a bit nostalgic for me.I bought this in conjunction with the PowerUp 3.0 smartphone Controlled Paper airplane. I'm not sure yet if the plane templates will work together but I'll give it a shot in a couple of weeks when I give it to him. I haven't built any planes yet, but it really doesn't look complicated. They have step-by-step fold instructions and all the folds are labeled by numbers. I also like that the paper included is thicker than your traditional copy paper and it's printed with cool designs on both sides.

Has 30ish different ways to fold a paper into a different airplane
This actually has different airplane models not just "different airplanes". It also has tips and tricks to help any airplane fly great. Bending wings one way or the other, adding weight, or just scaping the whole plane.

Family favorite over the years
This book has provided great gifts over many years. It's entertaining, a little educational (or more, for those seriously interested in aeronautics), and provides hours of fun.I bought this copy for my son-in-law. I think he will enjoy it on his own, but will enjoy it even more sharing it with his young son.

Not what I was expecting.
Maybe I misunderstood but I was expecting a book that was more about teaching how to make paper airplanes for my boy. The book does a good job of teaching about how an airplane flies but does little to teach you different designs. It does come with many "cut outs" that I guess you could copy but I haven't found them to be that great. Not to mention when it takes 10 mins to cut and fold the cut outs my 5 year old loses interest.
