Wax-Coated 10 Frame Beehive - (1) Deep & (1) Medium Unassembled

very thankful for Galena Farms for helping me get the two missing pieces shipped to me very quickly that was probably just an accident and not put in the packaging but they were very helpful with support and speedy shipping time!the hives went together perfectly once i figured out how to assemble them! my bees come next month so perfect timing for me to set them up outside! its very sturdy product Im so very happy with this product since i have bought other types that just the wood split apart, but this product is so nice and perfectly constructed, they fit just right!Thank you once again Galena Farms for this wonderful product!

Really enjoyed building this hive. It was my first time building a hive but the instructions were very clear. It looks really great.Pro tips:1) buy a heat gun for $15 and use it to melt the bees wax at the box joint ends, then cover with a thintowel and use a rubber mallet to seat the pieces.2) pre drill the holes for the nails. I didn’t get any splits3) Bee (LOL) careful when installing the screws during the brood box and honey super construction. I used a cordless impact gun and split one of the pieces a little. If you do this, melt some beeswax with the heat gun and press it into the crack.I’ll buy another one of these hives for sure!

I highly recommend the hives. They are easy enough to build - you will need a rubber mallet, wood glue, and an drill to score the nail and screw holes. You have to score (pre-drill) the holes. Any time I skipped this step I split the wood. The Bees wax on the materials smells divine. As I said the building is easy, but time consuming, figure on a few 30 minute to hour sessions to build all of the parts. I was building 2 supers (thinner boxes) and 2 hive boxes (larger boxes). By far the most time consuming part is building out the frames (10 per box, for me that was 40 frames). I was able to get a rhythm going, but without a drill it would have taken forever and resulted in split frames.Quality is excellent, I will buy from Hoover again.

I purchased 1 assembled and 1 unassembled hive. I love the quality of Hoover Hives and love the wax dipped coating. Hives were securely packaged for shipping. The assembled hive was super easy to pull out of the box and set up for use. The unassembled hive was super easy to assemble but the supplied nails to split some of the wood. If I purchase another, I would again prefer to spend the extra money to purchase the assembled hive so I don't split the wood.Overall Hoover Hives are an excellent quality, great craftsmanship and very sturdy!

Appears to be made out of cedar to better withstand the weather. Also, the beeswax coating should protect it even more. Mine has been assembled and been setting out the weather for a year and still looks new. I can’t report on how well it houses bees yet. I’ve ordered a nuke and will learn that pretty soon.

The hive was a little hard to get the dove tails together because of all the wax but I appreciated the fact it was so well waxed it is nice that the holes are pre drilled for the boxes, frames went together easily. Screw and nails included. Good wax coat on frame boards overall good looking hiveLooks sturdy and well built I think it's a great hive for the money and love the fact it's american made 10 out of 10 will be buying again
