Dawsons War
A book well worth reading and having. Covers the secret war in Vietnam, The part of the war that non of use had no idea of, but it all happened. These stories were never allowed to be told, all members that were part of MAC SOG had to sign NDAs. After reading this book twice, I believe this was about the Author's personal experience in this conflict. Realistic, as you can get. Hair raising, Bravery that these young men encountered, in a war they were not to talk about . Only recently have these men started telling their brave and heroic stories, of their past in Vietnam across the fence. My own mother read this book, and she is 83 years old. My father served two tours on the ground in Vietnam, it helped her to understand that war. Dad got a truck stuck in a river in Loas, in 69.

Great book. My dad was stationed in Da nang.
Wow, fast paced easy read. Keeps you hooked, which says alot in today's zero attention span social media age.

A good read
Great book, be gentle with the pages though they'll tear right out with a little pressure.

great read
I liked this book. I served in Vietnam for two years in the area discussed in the book. The author captured the true Vietnam story from the special ops perspective. I found his descriptions and comments to be on target. They were genuine and correct. The story was terrific and reflected things the way they actually were. Fascinating read for anyone interested in special ops Vietnam.

Top notch writing.......
Absolutely fantastic book.Got it 3 weeks ago, read it in a few nights, started all over again the next day. One of the best books I've read on the subject, and I own quite a few. These men were my instructors in the early-mid 70's, from Raid School, to ski training and STABO rigs. As a grunt and Recon Marine, I worked with 1st, 5th, 7th 10th, and 19th SFG; while attending Counter Guerrilla Warfare School at Ft. Bragg 1976, 2 of my instructors were former SOG and I've gotten to know a few since then. An evening of food, drinks and war stories is not to be missed. (many thanks to Robert Cook RT Habu on a hunting trip to Wyoming)I see a lot of nit picking, usually from those internet commandos who never bothered to go SF, ignore them. This book speaks volumes of truth, brotherhood, and heroism, something civilians will never understand.

An excellent read and an authentic novel about how war was waged by a special group of courageous military special operators. Highly recommended.

With out a doubt these soldiers were heroic. All of them should have gotten least a silver star.
I really liked this story. Being a veteran myself I could follow along with the soldiers story. But as far as the book itself goes, I don’t think it was proof read. Maybe short on money to have that done? Out side of that I would have given the book a 5 star rating.
