Can't go wrong at this price
Very well packaged. Good fit & finish. Cord handle wrap is evenly and tightly wrapped. Came surprisingly sharp and ready for action, whatever that might be. Good size and weight. Smooth, black matte finish is flawless (until I chop something, of course). I'm almost disappointed, I never buy ANYTHING that I can't find something to bitch about. OK...if you had to do a lot of heavy chopping, the cord wrap would become uncomfortable, but I expected that and I planned to wrap over the cord with self adhesive camo tape anyhow. Overall I'm VERY pleased and I think most people who buy this tomahawk will be as well. Best 20 bucks I've spent in a long time. Oh, had to add, since sheaths are often a bone of contention. Fits OK, relatively sturdy nylon. Nothing to write home about, but it does its job. If for some reason you think you might need this for self defense....get it out now, cause it takes a while. This is definitely no quick release sheath. ;') Does have a nylon belt loop, unlike say, the CS Trench Hawk, which has a cool, cleverly designed, hard sheath but...DUH...no way to attach it to ....anything....which is not so clever.

Nice general purpose axe tool.
Nice balance and heft. The only drawbacks are: sheath, because of the paracord on handle it is difficult to take out sheath. I am planning on cutting the bottom out of it resewing some cover trimming and adding 2 metal snaps with 1' nylon strapping on each side of handle to secure and make it assessable quicker; another drawback is the paracord it is a cheap knock-off brand so I will be rewrapping it with 550. Other than these MINOR things this is kick ass!!! I recommend this to anyone looking for a good inexpensive item to add to the Bug Out Bag.

I’m happy to own it!
Well made, heavy enough for some serious work. The paracord wrapping is strong yet supple. Absorbs a lot of the shock of repeated blows. Now, we know that at this price the steel is not A+, meaning it will have to be sharpened more frequently. But— that reasonable price!! I’ll be happy to do the extra sharpening.

This axe is great! This is axe is really cool looking and very sturdy. It's not for cutting trees that are wider than an average persons arm but it can be done. Idk if the the wrap is real paracord but with and without the wrap made no difference for comfort (the wrap broke after 50 or so throws at a tree). I always bring this axe with me whenever I go in the woods, the pointy side makes as a great self-defence weapon and the sheath it comes with is great, takes some practice to quick draw though. It takes a hell of a beating as as well. But this axe is overall just freaking awesome!

Shoe laces... Really?
Cons -The Paracord handle is nothing more than shoe string and broke the first day on the two that I used. The tang looks welded at the top of handle. Noticed this when I was lacing my own REAL paracord back on the axe.Pros- Light . Nice balance. A girl can throw this one. It is sharp and sticks good. Inexpensive.Wrap this with something before use or you will end up with several pieces of string and a sharp metal handle.

Nice
A decent camping hatchet that gets used. Decent weight and no issues yet. Bought this and about 15 other styles of knives and hatchets for my son's 10 year birthday gift (no worries, he's heavily supervised and has smarts). He uses them almost daily in a "Forged in Fire" style torture test (on the irons, not living things... yet...). So far they've survived and he's taken very good care of them. He sharpens them frequently whether they need it or not.

Do not buy! Not safe for any type of use!
To start, the ad clearly says “the one piece 440 stainless steel construction.....” which is obviously false when you see the weld in the photo. The weld is conveniently covered by the cord wrap, until you use the axe and it breaks. Three of the four axes broke within minutes of use as a throwing axe, going into soft pine boards. I shudder to think what would happen if you were really trying to use these as an axe, cutting harder woods for a fire. The snapping weld, and head flying off, could definitely hurt someone. You can easily see the discoloration in the welds, where they were not solid, creating a weak point. Next, the metal is suspect. The grain structure is not that of any serious SS I have ever seen. Looks more like a cast of some sort. Next, the cord wrap is useless. These had a total ‘in hand time’ of less than ten minutes and the wrap was already loose enough to start falling off the handle. Finally, the use of USA in the name, for no other reason than to mislead buyers into thinking this is a quality item from the USA is disgusting at best. I normally don’t do reviews, good or bad, but the extremely poor quality, the false advertising, and the risk of injury to family or friend really irritated me. I will not purchase any M-tech product, ever again, and hope you won’t either. Save your money. In the interest of fairness, one thing in the ad is true......the axe is easily portable, especially after it breaks in half. At that point it fits nicely in a back pants pocket.
