The Language of Fashion - Dictionary and Digest of Fabric, Sewing and Dress Paperback – March 24, 2015

I have been impressed with all of Mary Brooks Picken books that I have been able to find. This dictionary is impressive as it is not only is set up for those that sew and are interested in fashion, but it is also a great book for any reader of historical books that wonders what exactly they are talking about when describing garments that are no longer in use after several centuries.

I'm new to the technical design field and the dictionary has helped with everyday language and to better communicate with technical terms.

This is an amazing dictionary of fashion with interesting illustrations andclear definitions. Perfect for someone who needs period information. Toobad it ends in 1938 or 39. Great reference material.
