Works, albeit slowly
Works a bit slowly, but it seems to get the job done. At this price point, can't complain. Looks good in my rack-mounted PC, it's behind a door most of the time anyway, but the one I received appears to fit in with a black motif quite well. So maybe the manufacturer has solved the bezel coloring issue. Comes bundled with some demo software that allows you to burn data CDs, DVD, and Blue Rays. Apparently when you purchase it, it will unlock the ability to make photo CDs, Blue Ray videos, etc. Most of my CD work is either data or audio and this software apparently can't do audio discs. The software has the appearance of the older EZ CD creator interface, once you're in it, which is a nice intuitive design. But, I will probably be using Infra-Recorder software instead, I don't have to pay to unlock any of the duplicating and data types for burning with this free software. The Asus drive shows up in the Infra-Recorder device list, so I assume it can utilize it. Have yet to try it.

Works well, runs well, burns well, reads well. Great addition to a home or office build.

Not Blacked out as pictured.
Taking off a star because it was not all “blacked” out as I had hoped and the reason I made the purchase. Otherwise, it works as intended but Not sure why OEMs can't paint the rest of a CD/DVD player so that it's more aesthetically pleasing with today's computer builds. Guess just have to do it for yourself...carefully.

Solid disc drive
Packaging wasn’t impressive generic brown box. Pretty straight forward installation if you’ve don’t it before nothing to expect that’s new it’s a power wire and a sata cable and a handful of screws.My fathers old drive went kaput bought this as a replacement and worked like a charm.

Good drive and good value
Lost the OEM drive belt during a move. I already have a retail ASUS that works well. Getting another ASUS was a no brainer for the value. Snap in/out mounting so installation was a breeze. I do not care about the face not having the logos.

If you install these every day you would know exactly what to look for when it comes to connections it’s the only one I have ever order so I ordered the wrong connection but the product itself would have

Not compatible with Exact Audio Copy
I have used 2 Blu-ray and 2 DVD drives, on this and other computers, with Exact Audio Copy without issues. This drive does not work with EAC. Would not recommend and my next DVD drive purchase will be from another manufacturer.NOT pleased with this drive.

Exactly as advertised
Got it, hooked it up. No problems. Have been moving it to there computers to install windows on machines with bad DVD drives. Works Great everytime.
