Q: This says it has wifi. can i monitor the meat away from the house? like if i run to the store and leave the smoker going?

Hi Jeffery! Although we do not condone leaving your smoker unattended, with MEATER Cloud, you can monitor your cook from anywhere! All you need is a second smart device (like another phone or tablet) to bridge your cook data from Bluetooth to WiFi. Then with MEATER Cloud, you can go to the store, park, gym, or anywhere you have internet/data connection on your phone to get alerts and monitor your cook. We also released a new feature called Cook Share that allows you to share your live cook with anyone using a web browser (they don't even need the MEATER app). Q: How do i get the apption labs "meater" app to work with alexa?

Please follow these simple steps: 1. Go to settings in the MEATER app and sign up for a MEATER Cloud account (remember your email and password) 2. Open your Alexa app. Search and enable the MEATER Skill – You’ll need to enter the same MEATER Cloud sign-in details (above). 3. Once completed, start a cook and you’ll be able to ask Alexa internal or ambient temperatures as well as how much time is remaining or elapsed on your cook. Q: negative reviews mostly based on connectivity and range problems. What is the company doing to address these problems? Is version 2 coming?

I get about 6 feet via BT with oven door or grill lid closed. Support is lousy. They claim slow response is due to lack of personnel. I bet they're overwhelmed with complaints. So far theyve done nothing but tell me to try WIFI. They want you to build a bridge by connecting another cell or tablet and leave it near griil or oven while cooking. Put it in baggie if it's raining or snowing! Had i known, NEVER would have bought it. Junk in my opinion. Bottom line is the BT does NOT work as advertised. Get a REDI-CHEK thermomter on Amazon. $10 lees and remote works 300 ft away. You can program time and temp alerts also. REDI-CHEK unlike this MEATER worms flawlessly. IMHO MEATER spent more on the hype, fancy packaging and marketing videos than design and testing.

Amazing product

Across Time Zones....

I own two (2) MEATER’s. One for use at home in Phuket Thailand and the other for here at work in Abu Dhabi. Previously, I would never travel without my MEATER. It was always packed away in my bag. My last trip to work, I forgot it. Had to buy another.....: )

Don't buy if you have a kamado

Once you close the lid on the kamado you lose the connection, so you can't monitor the temp of your cook and have to keep opening the lid to get a reading. Forget about the 10m distance

Worked once. Utterly useless piece of junk.

The probe connected to my phone once. Its suggested cook for a steak was wrong, and the probe has failed to connect to my phone since. Do not waste your money. Buy a normal probe and forget this junk.
