So it's kind of hard to get around the lowered portability as the base has to be heavy enough to keep the stand upright with a tablet or LCD monitor, and I'd probably be happier if there was a quicker release of the support rod from the base, but all in all this is a really nice alternative stand for my LCD monitor while still being reasonably portable. I've got mine right now positioned to be just about my laptop's screen when the laptop is sitting on my desk, but it has adequate height to allow it to be side-by-side with the laptop when that is lifted up in my portable stand. I'm pretty happy with this stand.

This is a good solid stand that is actually meant for tablets, not just phones.The base is heavy enough to allow you to use the tablet without risking toppling it over. The tilt and height adjustment have enough resistance that it won't just flop around.The tablet grips are just wide enough to grab the tablet across its longest dimension. This means it will hold the tablet in the chunky case. It would not have held it the other direction.If you have the iPad pro in a thick case, this might not work for you. For 10" sized tablets it is a good buy

This is a strong, well built product. I like it most as it portable by the chair, on a desk very good.

This stand is slightly lower than advertised, so I wasn't able to use it for my original intended purpose. However, I have used it as a regular stand for 6 months. It held a portable monitor in portrait orientation well. Recently I tried using it with another portable monitor, but the hinge wasn't capable of holding the screen at the right angle. It just dropped down. It's worth noting the clamps don't 'hook' around the front of the screen. The monitor has popped out of the clamps when moving it. On the positive side, it looks great and the quality is good. I'd say this was only really suited to tablets, or very light portable monitors. I'm replacing it with a small VESA clamp mount.

I bought this for my store to hold the iPad at the checkout counter. It's sturdy and heavy (which is good), the adjustable height is great. It allows each employee to easily raise or lower the iPad when using it (they no longer have to strain their necks looking down at the screen like they did when the iPad was just sitting on the counter). The part that the iPad sits on can be tightened so it stays at the same angle without flopping down mid-use. The brackets that hold the iPad hold it firmly, but at the same time if you have to remove the iPad from the holder, it can be done quickly and vice versa. It looks really sleek and goes well with the store's modern/minimalist look.
