Could you hang these two planters at different heights from the one ceiling hook?

No. They're the same size and the strings are too short to try and hang one directly above the other. I wouldn't recommend hanging them side by side on the same hook, it would tilt the planters.

Do you have to hang these in studs?

They just have little ropes attached from them. I hung my planters from hooks above a window. They aren’t terribly heavy

In what kind of knot should the cords be tied? Mine came untied.

You have to tie it yourself. Make a knot using the rope.

Can I ask the thickness of the rope?

I gave it to my friend as a gift; she said they are pretty sturdy!
