VetoquinolZylkene Equine Behavior Support Horse Supplement Powder 2000mg, 20ct

I have a young, hot 1/2 Arabian 1/2 warmblood who gets very excited and silly if not worked every day or goes to new places and when around horses he has not met yet. He is not spooky or frightened but more like an excitable dog that is excited to greet their owner when they get home from work or eager to go on a walk. It would be cute except he weighs 1200 lbs, hops like a bunny and sometimes rears. Have tried stud chains and knotted halters while walking him and that seems to make his reactions more explosive so just use his normal halter and do ground exercises to get his attention. If I’m riding him I’m able to bring him down with lots of transitions and tasks to get his mind back on me.Just because I’m willing to try anything once I thought I’d try Zylkene and see what it would do. He is kept at home and has a 12x24 stall with a 24x30 turn out and because I had a migraine I was not able to get him out two days in a row so thought I’d try the Zylkene. The day I was able to get him out I added the Zylkene to his morning bucket with a little bit of applesauce and he licked it clean. In about an hour or so I tacked him up and put on lunging gear expecting to have to expel his demons before riding and he was a perfect gentleman on the lunge. I hopped on and he was very workmanlike and did not put one hoof wrong. The following week I met my trainer at a different barn and gave him the Zylkene a little before trailering out and he was super upon arrival. He did let out a whinny and a few hops after exiting the trailer but was focused on his job and was super the rest of the lesson. My trainer and I were happily surprised (I did not tell her about the supplement because I wanted an unbiased opinion but she remarked about how well behaved he was). Hopefully in early September we’ll go to a clinic (if not canceled because of Covid) and will for sure give him Zylkene in his bucket beforehand so we are both in the best frame of mind to learn!!

This product works well for my two warmbloods. I have a 13 yr old who was a rescue and has some baggage. It really helps in taking him new places and anything he may be anxious about. He is now doing recognized USEF shows and I doubt that would be possible without using Zylkenealong the way.Also I am using it on my 5 yr old warmblood as he is sure there is a ghost in my indoor arena. It is definitely helping and he is more way relaxed now after a few days.It is expensive to use daily but a once every few months for just a few days or using situationally has worked great for me.It is no replacement for patience and training but can help if used with those things.

I used Zylkene to calm my hot mare while she was on stall rest and rehabbing from an injury. It definitely works, but the cost prohibits long term use.

I have a sweet Arabian gelding that I’ve had for 8 years. He is 13 years old. Ever since I’ve had him he has been a spooky horse. Even when he learned a property well, he always seemed on edge. He did show and was able to do well but his anxiety was always palpable. Our Vetrinarian suggested we try Zylkene since we were moving to a new barn. I gave him two packets the day before we moved and two more when we arrived the next day. As we hand walked the new property he had his head high and did spook at some barrels, a trash can, a “scary corner” of the ranch but he calmed down quickly. Without the Zylkene he would have been difficult to calm down. The next days I gave one packet a day and we walked different areas of the ranch. He was calmer each day. Today he was VERY calm! We walked new areas of the ranch and he was not at all spooky! His head is low and he is very relaxed. For so many years, he was always in a panic mode. I’ve tried so many other supplements. I am SO thrilled with this product !!! It’s been a total of 10 days so far and I will keep him on it. I know that some products work great for some horses and not for others. Some of my friends had great success with Training Day. It did not work for my gelding. I am just grateful that there are options. Wishing you success with this as I have had.

On suggestion from my vet, I used Zylkene for my super buddy bound horse that had been broken up with by his girlfriend. I started about 2 days before her move out date feeding him 2 packets and then 2 packets 2 days post move. After that I continued feeding 1 packet a day for a week hoping to keep him from pacing and calling.Did it work? I do think it helped. While it did not totally stop it, I think it did take the edge off and shortened the length of time that he kept up / lessened the severity of his lonesome calling and pacing.On a side note, I have used Ace on my horse for separation anxiety issues while on stall rest in the recent past so I feel like I can compare the two for effectiveness (at least on my horse). Ace can be very effective if you know what dosage works as well as timing of administration for your horse/situation.Would I purchase this again? Yes. But at $7 a packet it is hard to justify any kind of long term use when there are other drugs like Ace that can have similar affect.

My horse is 27, we moved barns, and he has been a basket case for months! Everything freaks him out now. He was running us over at the barn, dashing to stare out at some unknown horse killer through the trees. He used to be bombproof on the trail. It was so sad to see him in such despair, so we tried this per my vets recommendation. It has made a HUGE difference! He is relaxed and happy at the barn, stands quietly and we can groom him without tying up (like old times!). He is alert, but calm. Trail riding I don't see results from this yet. Maybe I need to give him a bit more on days we ride??? Anyway, I am very pleased. The cost is not cheap, but it's worth seeing my senior boy happy.

Zylkene really works. My horse was very anxious after moving home to my property. I began treating him for ulcers, thinking he was in pain, but it did not help his anxiety. Started giving him Zylkene as well, and he calmed down significantly in 2 hours. This product is pricey, but it really does work! Buying again.
