The BEST source for info on nutritional healing
I was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer a year ago. I began taking a targeted medicine (a kind of chemo in a daily pill) from my oncologist but also began looking for nutritional ideas. Then I discovered Chris! I started watching his videos and eventually joined his Square One program to get even more direction. Now with the book, we have it all! One of the best things is that he explains why there's such a divide between traditional medicine and nutritional sources. I asked the PA at my oncologist's office if they had any dietary advice for me and the answer was "No. You're thin so just drink lots of milkshakes and don't lose weight!" Milkshakes. That was her advice.Chris changed my whole perspective on food. I'm juicing and eating close to his prescribed menu--and the cancer has shrunk drastically. My doctor thinks in terms of managing the cancer for several years (no talk at all of healing), but because of Chris, I now hope to completely heal. Get the book--but be sure to watch some of his video interviews on YouTube too. Hearing the testimonies of so many people who have healed through nutrition alone is powerful, and you'll get to know Chris even better. He is balanced, reasonable, smart but humble. He has spent the years since his own diagnosis researching the science behind healing through nutrition. He's cancer free after 15 years of following his own advice. That's the best rec of all, right? Thank you, Chris, for EVERYTHING!

Life-Changing and Life-Saving
I have never written a review of a book but this book is both life-changing and life-saving. I was diagnosed in December of 2014 with stage 4 cancer. I did no surgery, chemo or radiation for reasons of my own. I found Chris three months later and began a modified form of his plan because I wouldn't give up all my favorites but now I am fully on the Square One with Chris. This book now has in print what can be done by people with cancer that you can hand to them and they can read for themselves. He is the most giving young man I know and he devotes his life to save others. This really is NOT that difficult if you want to live and thrive. My oncologist gave me one year before I deteriorated and laughed at my intention to do things nutritionally so I fired her. I've never been back and here I am almost 4 years later feeling wonderful and loving life. I don't know if I still have cancer because 5 oncologists wouldn't take me on as a patient doing it nutritionally so I gave up trying to find one. Chris is my mentor and I pray others who read this book will follow his plan.

Don't believe everything your Doctor might tell you!
I started reading this book last night, and had a hard time putting it down. This is real-life stuff, people! I watched my mom get cancer four times, each time her body weakening from "main stream" treatment. I believe the chemo she had the first time around may have caused the successive cancers. She fought each time like a trooper, but by the time her body had been cut, poisoned, and burned by the doctors "in the know", the fourth time she got it, she didn't have much fight left in her body. How I wish I had known then what I know now! I might still have a beautiful woman to attend the weddings of her grandchildren...Please read this book (or get the videos) and do not assume that chemo and radiation are the only answers.

I deeply regret purchasing this book
Who wouldn't want to be able to cure cancer with surgery and juice/salad alone? While Chris refers to chemo as the "easy" way out, it is one of the hardest things I have ever done and I would MUCH rather drink juice instead if it were that simple. Unfortunately, Chris is just trying to sell books, and does not have a medical license or anything that qualifies him to give medical advice. The oncologists I have met with are all deeply caring, hard-working people, and if they knew that cancer could be cured with huge volumes of carrot and other juices, they would recommend it in a heartbeat. There are lots of reviews that say that there is nothing wrong with drinking juice/eating healthily AND doing chemotherapy. Of course!! But that's not what Chris is preaching. Chris uses juice INSTEAD of chemotherapy and this book is very anti-chemo. If you read it, like I did, before an appointment with your oncologist to decide your treatment plan, you might end up terrified of chemo. Please do not let Chris reduce your trust in your oncologist. They have years of medical training and really have your best interests at heart. The jury is still out on whether Chris does. How could Chris be doing so well if his method weren't effective? Well, he had surgery, for one. For many cancers, surgery alone is the largest risk reducer in cancer recurrence and spread. There are many examples of people who tried to use juice to cure their cancer without surgery and they died relatively quickly. Just google Jessica Ainscough, the "Wellness Warrior" and her mother. Chris writes about the Gerson Therapy, which Jessica Ainscough followed, in his book. He does not mention her, nor the fact that she died a potentially avoidable death at the age of 29 after selling her own juicing/health books.I don't know why this book is ranked so highly in Amazons lists. I bought it and felt that it made a difficult time for me harder. If you or a loved one has recently been diagnosed with cancer, I recommend asking your oncologist before reading this book. She will probably be able to recommend something better. Personally, I prefer "Anticancer", which gives a lot of advice about healthy eating without making you afraid to trust your medical team.
