Tips for ordering/using Water Gels
I just bought and used these water gels for a party and they were awesome! The gels disappeared as I added water (and the disappearing act is actually pretty cool to watch) and the pearls "floated" beautifully in my clear cylindrical vase. If you don't add water, it looks like the vase is full of glittering crystals which is pretty too. Here are some tips I learned from my experience.1) You can buy this product in a quantity of 1, 2, 3, or 10. Be aware that the name and description for qty 1 is not correct! The listing strongly implies that you get 2 packets but the seller is Amazon and they are only shipping 1 packet. Amazon gave me a refund but they haven't fixed the listing. The other choices are sold directly by Pearlfection, and those names/descriptions are accurate: Qty = # of Packets.2) I have 2 vases which each holds 4 cups of water. 1 packet of water gels was more than enough to fill both vases to the top (with a floating candle), although it did not initially appear to be enough.3) I let the gels absorb water overnight (more than 12 hours) before I used them. The owner of Pearlfection advised not to put in too much water as it would cause the pearls to sink. I didn't think I had enough water gels in the vase but after I added water I had to scoop a bunch out in order to have the water level over the gels but not overflow my vase. After a few hours, I noticed that the gels were poking above the water level so I scooped more out and added a little water. By the next morning (the morning of my party), I had to scoop again. I guess the gels just keep absorbing the water! I ended up with enough excess gels that I set up a third, smaller vase.4) The best way to arrange the pearls is to put in some water gels, then some pearls, then more water gels, then pearls, etc. Afterwards, I used a plastic chopstick to easily poke the pearls down and push them around.Highly recommend!

These are SO COOL!
I bought these for my daughter's birthday party and they were so fun! I used the gels to layer safari animals in a clear vase, with flowers/greenery.I have not yet used the gels a second time, so they are currently sitting in a container full of water, per the vendor's instructions.

Very clear as described. Best used w distilled water if your water is hard. Use pearls or shells & floating candle. Beautiful!
Had to try them to believe it. They are incredibly crystal clear. They do cloud up if you use regular water after a period of time especially if your water is hard water. I switched to distilled water as recommended and it stayed clear for at least 2 weeks or more.Beautiful in glass cylinders with floating candle on top. I decorated some with the xmas colors of gold, red, green and silver. In the pics you will see I left some of the gel balls on top but you can cover them with water to let them disappear completely and to let the candle float more or leave them as is for more stability. I surrounded the smaller one with string lights and tinsel.Instructions say you need to hydrate about 10 hrs for full size before using. It also says you can dry them out again, rehydrate and reuse. They took weeks to dry out in a colander. They dried darker than original color in the package but I haven't tried to rehydrate yet to see if as they will be as clear for re-use.
