I’ve been building model ships and boats for a long time and I thought I would buy this kit because it looked nice. However, this model ship kit is the worst I have ever seen. And definitely not for the beginner. The instructions are absolutely shocking and You can barely see the instructions. There’s also no information and no instructions on how to build the sails or the masts either. Most of the plywood is extremely thin to the point it snaps on contact and I’ve had to spend time glueing pieces back together like a jigsaw puzzle. The fabric for the sails are awful and do not hold together properly. What a nightmare! Won’t be buying again!

Easy to build, cheap and great for entry level model building, the instructions could do with been clearer but still good

Very thin fragile ply, not really suitable for models.

I am happy with this model, however the instructions either missing the part of ship rope arrangement nor they are not exist. Without this part you are very difficult to make the same ship as seller illustrated. And the instructions are too sampled for amateur, I am not saying amateur cannot built it, but with proper instructions, ie tell people to soak the parts before attempt to band it. it could avoid all those negative comments that think this product is a rap-off or poor quality. But for experienced model builder, they won’t have too many problem.By the way, the illustration photo are misleading, if you want to build exactly same ship you will need to buy extra parts such as robe, metal anchor, bronze cannon at least 2 kinds of puller… it could cost you another £100.

Most of the information is available online, on how to build this style ship. This is my first ever build and I was quite happy to make a few bits up as I went along. All part of the fun.Just add paint, glue and a bit more string and you'll be fine!

One would need to use super glue or tiny nails rubbish, dont waste your money nothing fits and directions are pathetic.

Paper thin not worth money

All was as expected, a basic but precisely cut kit which needs patience and care to assemble.You need a sharp knife to remove small pieces of wood and be gentle when placing delicate pieces together.All in all an excellent kit for the price.
