It would work but very minimum. You would be better off with 2 units on each of the 12 volt sets as electricity always takes the shortest route. 4 big 6 volt batteries would be an overload on 1 unit.

Q: Does this work with a hybrid engine system using an AGM battery and leaving it connected while using the car normally?

It does not matter what type of engine the battery is attached to. The Pulse tech attaches directly to the battery. It uses a small amount of the battery's current to activate it, so you want to make sure that the battery is kept charged. If the battery is not being used then I recommend a solar panel and charge controller to maintain a full voltage. When my vehicle is not running I plug in my 12v/ 2.5w solar panel into the DC port so the battery continues to get a 'trickle' charge.

I dont know about agm batteries or 3 in series, but I used it while charging a lead acid storage battery with no problems

Q: Is the desulfation as good as or better than that of the BatteryMinder 1500/1510?

Both of them are excellent products. The PulseTech PP-12-L is an onboard unit that you can install and forget about it. Onboard units also take longer to desulfate batteries. The BatteryMiner 1500 & 1510 are chargers that desulfate. Desulfating chargers will desulfate batteries faster than onboard units.
