These have been the best gloves I have found so far that will take the radiant heat from my crucible furnace when melting iron. At these temps, leather doesn’t cut it (it starts smoking immediately and will catch fire if left more than 6 or 7 seconds). The aluminized backing reflects heat away and the inside is usually grilling something like lifting tongs. The blue aramid fiber ones don’t like flexing back and forth and I found the fibers break down in those quickly when you’re gripping anything that’s not round with a large radius. These ones don’t last forever, but they last the longest by far. They are a good part of this complete breakfast, I mean.. PPE ensemble.
