Fascinating and versatile cards for young babies
I had heard that young babies are fascinated by black-and-white patterns, but it wasn't until we received a box of these art cards (Jungle Collection) as a gift that I realized just how strong that fascination is! Our three-month old daughter stared and stared at each card. If a card was moved in front of her face, she would enthusiastically follow it with her eyes and head. I had never seen her so interested in any other objects. Now, at 4 1/2 months, her eyesight is quite a lot better and so her visual tastes are broader. I'd guess that these cards would be most appropriate for babies between one and four months old.The great thing about these large, sturdy cards (as opposed to images in a picture book, or images printed from a home printer) is that they can be easily propped up wherever baby is playing. They make diaper-changing time and tummy time much more fun. I used them a lot on car trips: I would sit in the back seat with the baby and put the cards in front of her car seat, one at a time.Several other reviewers have complained that there are only six cards per box and that the cards are not laminated, which is less than one might expect for the $12 price tag. To that, I would reply that the six cards are really like 12 cards, because each one is double-sided (with one side showing the artwork in black on a white background and the other side showing it in white on a black background). Our baby was equally interested in each side.Although the cards are not waterproof per se, they're very sturdy and have a glossy finish, so if they come into contact with something messy, they will be fine as long as they're wiped promptly. In summary, my baby and I would recommend these whimsical, versatile, fascinating cards to any parent of a newborn. I am planning to buy them as gifts for several new babies I know!

Our favorite baby play
We had two sets of these cards. Definitely the best baby play items for us. Our baby is now 19 months and she interacted with them at the very beginning and for so, so long! You could tell the difference at 1 month old when we were first interacting with these, she would be very focused on the images because she could simply see them as it is black and white. Plus they are very long lasting and the size of the cards is perfect. They are still in a very great shape to pass along to our future baby! We definitely recommend them.

Cute high quality contrast cards
We purchased a few items from Wee gallery, including these art card sets! They are the perfect size for visual stimulation and interaction with our baby. My son sustains more engagement with these cards than his newborn toys. It makes me feel confident that he is learning and processing what he’s gazing at. Love the contemporary artwork and the cards aren’t flimsy at all! They’re sturdy enough for us to hold or stand against the wall of his crib. I would’ve absolutely loved these as newborn baby gifts!

High quality cards
I love how thick these cards are, and the artwork is fantastic (so much better than generic "clip art" like drawings). These captured the attention of our almost 3 week old.

Need more for the price.
I liked the farm, sea, safari, and black & white sets. We noticed however that there are some differences between the older and newer sets. The older sets have animal images only on the front. The newer sets have animal images on the front and back. We like having the double-sided animal cards. Also, some of the newer animal sets have different artwork than the older versions (or at least as far as I can tell.) Which is why we carefully chose the sets we purchased and ensured they only had images we actually wanted to use and liked.Suggested Usage: We are going to use these cards during tummy time. I intend to place the cards in holders at different distances from my son so he can work on eye coordination and focus. I found that the Ableware 15" Playing Card Holder has a wide enough slot opening to hold these cardboard cards... and can hold 3 cards at a time. BUT be sure to check the holders for any sharp edges and sand those down before use. In future, we also may use the art cards in other ways as artwork in the room, but their main purpose was for infant eye development. My only complaint is that for the price, i should be getting more than 4 cards. I understand they are excellent quality, but they are still overpriced. I will get my money's worth only because I am not going to let my child hold them and droll all over them so I can reuse them in many ways over time.

Baby loves and I approve
My baby really enjoys these cards. The colors and patterns really get his attention. He is currently 12 weeks and has spent time looking at them since he was 7 weeks without getting bored; however, there is a lot of interaction to keep his attention. We usually use them at tummy time or I hold them about 8-10 inches above his face to while he is laying in his crib or at his activity gym.Depending on his mood, he favors certain pictures more than others, but he always makes faces, smiles, and coos at the pictures. The cards are also very well made and durable. I can tell they will hold up through all the drool and being handled by tiny hands. They are also larger than I expected--I attached a photo to show size relative to a small board book (which may have been listed, I just wasn't paying attention).I debated giving 4 stars because, for the price, I wish there were a few more cards. I wish I could have give a 4.5... but that rounds up, so I went with 5! I also chose to go with 5 stars because I would recommend these to others and would buy it again!

Strong and beautiful
I got these for my newborn to start eye coordination and he loved them, but then now at 8 months he loves playing with the lid of the box more than anything. Very beautiful, definitely a cute gift and very gender neutral. Also hold up to a 8 month old throwing and rolling all over the box. And chewing on them, even though that's not their intended use, as the box says haha!

Little one loves these
I guess when you’re new to the world the simplest things can be amazingly entertaining. Our little one loves the whale, the panda, and the penguin the best.
