Premium HD TV Signal Amplifier with 15 dB Gain and Ultra Low Noise

This item provided minimal signal strength improvement. My television antenna reception was borderline with picture tiling occurring frequently. I hoped this amp would improve reception enough to have a consistent picture. There was essentially no improvement in picture quality so I removed it.

Performed well. No difference from more expensive Radio Shack model I have currently

Be sure to keep the 2 parts together if you take it off. ( i'm about 25 miles from tower as bird flies,) the one part passes the signal but also inputs a dc voltage apparently to allow the other part which "could" be put up on mast near antenna to amplify the signal close to antenna ( i did not do that because of weather /rain, etc. but it could be done with proper protective covering like a heave plastic bag etc). Mine has a blue light that lights when the power is getting to the actual amp section. WOW what a difference when I got it hooked back up correctly (to be honest I thought it was 2 separate products so be careful to keep them together just in case when you move you forget how it went together). SO far great ! Yeah, use an outside install, use 2 chain link top rails, strap them to facial board on side of house (not on top of roof), or use sat dish bracket to hold the anteanna perhaps on a 6' pvc pole to get more height . You can build your own omnidirectional antenna by using 2 wires and connect them inside the flexible plastic Pex (lowes home depot) and using cpvc tees and unions fashion a 13" diameter double loop of pex, then down a 6" pvc to a 75 ohm transformer (cheap) and connect your cable wire into house to amp, then on to tv.
