Worth the money
Love this machete!! Great weight and feel, little shorter than I expected but ends up being perfect for clearing trails. Chopped so many Branches and small trees down with this. It even worked better than my small axe when chopping a 12” thick tree into pieces. Blade is still as sharp as ever. 10/10 would buy again or as a gift

Looks and feels good.
Just got it and it is an impressive looking and feeling piece. I work in forestry so Ill be testing it tomorrow and will update.

Heat treat on mine was suspect, not a Condor issue usually ever.
Sent mine back after basically hacking a bit of kindling from some precut pine logs, and a box of cardboard, my blades edge was marked by small nicks that were actually small chips. It's otherwise a great machete, sometimes these things happen w heat treating not taking completely, leaving blades like mine a bit soft. Niether my Condor Golok, or Discord had the same problem w the same tests. Order w confidence that Condor products RARELY have such issues.

Great product
Condor makes awesome heavy duty machetes. Nearly 1/4" thickblades ground to razor sharp.

Little Rough For the $$$
My wife purchased this off my Wish List for Father's Day, and as much as I wanted to like it, this machete is a miss for me. While Condor was once a great value for the money, I feel the pricing has outpaced the quality. For $70 I could have looked past a few rough spots here or there. For $120+, I feel a bit underwhelmed and dis satisfied. Here's a couple of quick options:Pros:Very ergonomic compared to many Condor products. The stying is very unique. While "machete" and "Scottish" don't really go together, the laser etching is well done on the blade and sheath if that's your thing.Aluminum liners between the steel tang and wood grip should result in a bit of strength and protect from separation and cracking from shirking. The knife is balanced well enough to chop with as well as to handle finer tasks. The sheath is quality, and can be secured using one or both snaps. One could use just the top one to keep the knife handy and snap both should it need to be secured for travel.Cons:The edge is a mess. The grinds are uneven, the edges of the tanto don't meet up correctly, the tanto is ground rounded at the edge despite being designed to come to a harder point, and my example has a noticeable over-grind dip at the sweet spot just before the tanto edge which may mean that the steel is burnt there. You can kind of make these out in my photos. The Scottish design, while cool, seems a bit silly. Marking up a machete made in El Salvador with machine-made knots and celtic symbols seems a bit off. There is little cultural mash-up here beyond the designer liking to harken back to his Scottish roots by throwing on some Celtic markings on a very cental/south American design. This knife is just way overpriced. I don't mind spending cash on good tools. I generally carry Chris Reeve or a Microtech or higher end Benchmade most days in my pocket. I know quality costs something, but this is not a $120 knife. The finish is just too rough to warrant what they are charging. If they address the issues with the grinds, MAYBE. However, I am struggling to figure out how they came to this three figure price point in the first place. In closing, I'm going to keep this knife. Mostly due to the fact that my wife seemed disappointed that I didn't really like it once I inspected it. She thought it looked cool (and it does). I'll fix the edge and use it to clear some brush around the backyard, but I feel this may be my last Condor for a good long while.
