I believe so the brush is somewhat soft so it should slip right into the bottle.

What type of material is holding the bristles into the bristle head?

The part where the bristles are is hard sturdy plastic , the same as at the end of the handle . The bristles are pulled through and are staying in very sturdy . I have a set of the shorter and longer ones for a long time and absolutely love those . Using them every day and they are still in a very good shape . They fit in every water bottle that we have . I ordered another set to give to my friend and my friend loves it as much as I do . 👍

Do you think it will it scratch my glass water bottle?

I think it’s soft enough to not scratch glass but I think it might over time scratch plastic

Will this brush fit into the 1 1/8 inch opening of a 1/2 gallon water bottle?

Looks like it would. Bristles are dense, but they fold inward toward the stem. Should be fine.
